Technology VS SpiritualitymazecraftNovember 12 2005, 18:02:05 UTC
I agree that by and large technology is detrimental to our Earth and ultimately to our virility as spiritual/physical beings. Due to technological advances, (man I can't even write that without smiling sadly), we have culled humanity into a physically weaker and spiritually disconnected species. Our modern conveniences and pharmaceuticals have made us frail and the endless distractions of our technologically oriented society have stripped us of our sacred space.
I am amused at the scientific need to quantify and objectify data using artificial instruments and machines. They measure and calculate with flawed instruments never realizing that the ruler bends and stretches to give the illusion of "accurate" measurements and a straight edge. Only the quantum theorists are beginning to understand the flaws in their own methods.
The human body is the instrument with which we are here to discover and explore the great mystery. We need not create artificial bodies because we are afraid to trust in the one we are endowed with. It is a funny joke when you look around with this in mind and see what society has become because it is not understood. But it is also really sad. The damage to our Earth Mother and to ourselves is not necessary. But we are growing in numbers who understand and seek to change this upside down distorted world view by first changing ourselves.
This is much like the classic tale of the tortoise and the hare. The quick smart ass bunny, so arrogant and over-confident seems to be winning. But the diligent and calm self-assured tortoise moves steadfast towards the finish line.
The tehnocratic hedonistic driven paradigm that seems to have our world in a choke hold is the hare.
The ever growing spiritual awakening that is happening across the thresholds of many cultures and transcending them is the tortoise. Maybe they are the New People spoken of in prophesy? I don't know.
People are coming around and if this continues, perhaps we can begin to explore greater avenues of human existence.

Peace.
