This posting is in answer to a private letter I received from someone on here.
The reason I am pretty open about the methods and manners of how some Native (and other) ceremony is done or how it works is this:
If you want to know something, it is time for you to have that knowledge when it comes, by whatever means it comes. If you are not supposed to have it, then you will not. I do not hide who or what I am, nor do I ever hinder someone else's journey. I do not charge for knowledge, other then maybe a token gift of semaa (tobacco)or some other sacred herb. I never will. That has pissed some self proclaimed Shaman types off in the past, to the result that on more then one occasion attacks came. So be it. They can be answered as well.
I think there is enough misinformation out there. I think the information I would give someone is genuine enough and it is given without an idea that it is the only way to do a thing. There are many paths. If anything I ever say does not feel right for someone else, let it be. If it is something you want, take it, its yours. I will always try to answer someones honest questions to the best of my abilities. There are some things I would not discuss in public, but nothing I would not answer face to face or some version of that.
Understand our teachings come from a very long line of elders, healers and teachers, not from a book, movie, or weekend retreat. If anyone who is native, thinks they are native or involved with something native, and does not like this way of teaching, then do not use it. Otherwise let us be. It is not a suggestion.
