R.I.P., Gene

My good friend Gene has passed on. He was 76 and in poor health, so it was not unexpected, but that doesn't lessen the loss. As another friend stated last night at his wake/memorial, he has left many pairs of shoes to fill ( Read more... )

You are not a moron. It IS a round. I e-mailed this link to some friends but I didn't have yours, and I wouldn't mind terribly if you put this mini-eulogy in the newsletter.

Well said. Gene was a very special friend, and it did sometimes take some getting used to him. He respected intellect and creative thought, with or without the benefit of education; he did not always suffer fools gladly.

I certainly could never have done Comforts at Old Songs for 20 years without both his technical assistance and moral support. Chez Jake will be in need of new tech support staff to say the least.

That's the nicest eulogy you could ask for. I kind of always knew I'd always regret trying not to glean a bit more of his wisdom while he was still around. I already do.
