Hand adventures
So, I wasn't happy with the hands that Ryder came with. This is no secret. I went looking for new ones. Maybe I should just buy them directly from the company yes? I couldn't get onto my account on Fairyland. I used different browsers, reset my password several times and of course I emptied my cache and cookies. Nothing worked. Well damn.
So I looked through their dealers and found a German one. Great! Lets check them out. To my delighted surprise I found the hands that I wanted. Not only that but they were in stock! I couldn't believe my luck. I hit that order button so fast I must have broken the sound barrier. Days past. A week past. Two weeks. What the ever loving fuck? I heard bad things about this dealer and decided that this wasn't going to work. I cancelled my order.
Being increasingly annoyed and impatient I went looking through the DoA Marketplace. After just ten minutes or so... lo and behold! There they were again! The right style, resin tone and with s-hooks instead of magnets. I contacted the seller and before that day had came to and end I had paid for them.
This is the conversation I had with Ryder (aka King since he behaves like one) about the hands:
Me: Look my sweet lil'love! I found your hands! *pats head*
Ryder: Took you long enough.
Me: Yeah well... sorry about that. So, anyway. The faster shipping option is significantly more expensive so would it be OK if...
Ryder: No.
Me: But...
Ryder: Oatmeal.
Me: Huh??
Ryder: Oatmeal. It's cheap. Eat that and you can afford the faster shipping.
Me: . . .
Ryder: Da'fuck are you waiting for? Times are ticking yo!
Me: You can be a bit rude and demanding sometimes you know.
Ryder: Yeah, but I'm also cute.
Me: That you are.
Ryder: So you'll do what I want.
Me: I will.
Wallet: *cries*
As I said in my previous post, they will most likely not get here next week but I'm hoping they will anyway. Better to stay optimistic right? It would have taken even longer had I not opted for the more expensive shipping.
It's going to feel so good to finally be able to finish Ryder. And I'm thrilled and ever so slightly nervous about Kat. Will I like his posing? Resin? Will he fit in and look good next to Ryder? Keeping my fingers crossed.
Oh, I also got my Supia sold! After having her up for only a day! The dolly Gods are smiling upon me. The buyer has her on layaway, which I'm totally cool with. There's no hurry. She seems super nice too.
I've managed to put away some cash so I'll have some to play around with. What should I spend them on though? I really want to get my lil'grail Shiwoo. I don't even have a fixed character for him yet but that doesn't worry me like it used to. The Minifees are expensive tho. People will get pissed at me for saying this but I think they are overpriced. They're almost double the price of others MSDs.
So what I need to decide is, do I want to spend all that money on a Shiwoo and brace myself for the inevitable long wait time? Do I buy a cheaper doll from my wishlist, such as Cloverdoll Elvis or Aquarious Doll Chloe? I could buy both of them, or just one and still have like $200 to play around with. I could spend all of it on wigs, clothes, shoes (do I really need more shoes?) and props. I would be able to buy a body for one of my floating SD heads but I don't feel like doing that now.
So what to do? I really do want my whiteskin Shiwoo but the wait times on FL is several months nowadays since they are so backed up. It'd also be pretty damn cool to splurge on stuff for all my sweeties who are already here.
I need to talk this through with my bestie. Maybe she can give me some good advice. We'll most likely turn to the cards to see what they've got to say. Perhaps I'll get some insight on the meditation tomorrow.
