Where to start?
I spent some time coming up with things that I want my CMS to do and shuffled them into criticality groups. The first tier have to be done or it won't be my system. The other stuff can be plugged in on top of the base and it will work just fine.
The big problem I have now is before diving in and assembling the first part of the base is where to begin. There are a few angles I can take, and I'm not sure which will be best. Categorical hierarchy? User permissions & security? Content types? Those are the big thee, and honestly I'm not sure what's a good starting point.
Hmmm...if I can whittle them down to just two choices I can flip a coin I guess. :)
