president

I wonder what would happen if instead of holding one presidential election, we held a reelection then an election if we voted not to reelect the president whose term is coming to a close. When president Bush's term comes to an end, we can hold a reelection wherein the people can decide on the merit of his term if he deserves to be reelected. If over a set percentage of Americans think he should be reelected based on his merit alone, he gets a second term. If that percentage of voters feel he did not serve this country well, an election can be held with no incumbent. This way, a president cannot be reelected based on how the public thinks he will perform compared to those running against him, who the public has not had an opportunity to observe in a presidential capacity. Hrm... I just don't want Bush to have the advantage of being an incumbent.

Must go eat...mmm... fish and chips... deep-fried waist.
