It had been five long days and none of the two brothers, Inoo and Chinen, showed signs of awakening.
Yabu and Morimoto took turns to visit the first one and then the other, holding a friendship based on suffering for the person they love. Yabu admired Ryutaro that every day, after school, appeared in the hospital, standing still in front of Chinen's bed, talking about his day and how much he loved him... While Morimoto admired Kota that every day tried to smile, undergoing any kind of control that doctors told him to do, preparing himself for that surgery that would determine the life or death of his loved person.
"Do you think that he wake up?" Keito asked to Hikaru was compiling a stack of paperwork.
In the last few days he had devoted himself to work to try to avoid the false smile of Kota who tried to empower himself.
He put the pen on the table, looking at the pictures of Kei and Kota on the desk.
"I don't know, Keito, I really don't know..." He sighed, leaning his back on the chair.
"Kota is fantastic..." Keito said, looking at the pictures.
"For what? For pretend to be strong when he wants to cry and destroy everything? He is undergoing painful controls, because we want to avoid any problems during the surgery, but... he doesn't feel pain, he feels nothing, he is an empty shell..." he concluded, leaving his head in his hands.
"It's not for that..." Keito said, making the other look at him.
"Even in a situation like that, he always manages to teach us something more..."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, this could be considered as a lesson, right? Loving someone with all yourself until the end..."

"Are you okay?" The doctor asked, worried for him.

"Kota, if you feel bad, you have to tell me, because any pain or illness could result in the death of both ... is everything okay?" He asked once again, making the other sigh.
"I'm... Afraid... I know, I'm an idiot, I should be happy to save the person I love, but if he does not wake up? If the surgery goes wrong? If the pain is too strong for me? I'm really afraid, Hika..."
The blond looked at him smiling
"Finally you put your feelings..." He said, ruffling his hair.
"Kota, be afraid is human, I think that if I was in your place, I would have left everything behind, I would not have ever passed what you've been through..." He sat down on the bed of the patient, for look in his eyes.
"You had a lot of courage to get here and I understand that if the surgery goes wrong the person who will stand worse will be you, but remember Kota, you're not alone, whatever happens, we're here, do not be overwhelmed by negative feelings , you have a long life, you have all the time you need to find another happiness..."
Kota looked at his friend.
"Hika, your words hurt me, it's like... they were hopeless..."

Yabu got up from the bed, ruffling the other's hair. "Will you be there tomorrow when they'll extract me the marrow?" He asked smiling.
"Yes, I'll be, I can't participate at the surgery, because I'm a medical trainee, but I will be next to you until the end. Now let's sleep, tomorrow I'll have a long day..." He concluded, leaving the oldest alone in the room.
"You're not going to tell him?" A voice asked when he left the room.
"Keito, you scared me!" He said, ignoring what the other one said, advancing toward his desk.

Keito was silent, surprised by those words just came out from the mouth of his boyfriend.

"WHAT SHOULD I TELL TO HIM KEITO? THAT INOO KEI WILL NOT ARRIVE TO END OF TOMORROW? THAT ALL CHECKS MADE UNTIL NOW ARE USELESS?" He shouted surprising the other, making out him some tears.
They were silent for a few minutes.
"I'm sorry" Hikaru said "I didn't want to shouted, but I can't tell it to him, Kota... still have the hope to see Kei again..."
"Yuya, then? What did Hika say?" Arioka asked when saw the other come back.
He went to look for Hikaru to ask him about Kota, but while he wandered the hallways, some cries attracted his attention, and at the end he heared the sad truth about their friend.
He looked Arioka, who was waiting for his answer, he imagined him the next day in tears, despairing for having lost his childhood friend, he imagined Kota, without tears, he cried enough, but without even the ability to think, an empty shell , with no feelings, no emotions, imagined Hikaru, in tears, giving himself to blame for not being able to save him, and all the others in tears to see the people they loved destroyed.
"Inoo Kei, if you die tomorrow I'll beat you" He said softly, trying not to be heard by Arioka who was approaching worried.
"Yuya, are you okay?" He asked, but the other didn't answer, he grabbed him and hugged him, leaving him stunned.
"What happened?" He asked, surprised by the gesture
"Nothing, I just want to hug you..." Takaki said, making the other smile.
The next day came shining, but Kota did not notice, despite Hikaru told him to sleep, he got up in the middle of the night and went into intensive care, through all hours staring at the bed in the glass room.
"Kei-chan, today they will extract my bone marrow and you'll do the surgery tomorrow, if all goes well we will be able to see each other again..." He said, placing his hand on the glass, in the hope of some sort of response from the other.
"Are you dreaming, Kei-chan?" He asked, still waiting for an impossible answer.
"Are you dreaming me?" He waited quietly "I dream of you every night, every day I see your presence, but it's not enough for me..." Again a second of silence "Kei, I want your warmth, I want your smile..."
He took a deep breath and sat down on a chair where he spent the rest of the hours, waiting his turn to enter the operating room.
Despite Yabu thought that no one had noticed his escape in intensive care, in reality Hikaru had seen him, he was about to enter in the room and told him to go back in his room, but the words of Yabu stopped him. He decided to leave him with his beloved again for last time. He slid down the door, giving rise to all the tears in his body.
"I'm sorry Kota, I'm very sorry, but I can't destroy that last bit of hope that remains to you..."

"Are you ready?" The doctor trainee asked to the patient.
"As I said, I'm afraid, but yes, I'm ready..." Kota said, with his usual fake smile, but even though it was fake, it was all that Hikaru would need to be sure that his friend was okay.
"The anesthesiologist is coming, then we give you the morphine, you will feel a bit 'dazed, but do not worry everything will be fine"
"Hika, I'm not worried, it's not the surgery that scares me, is the awakening..." He said, beginning to feel tired and dizzy.
"Hikaru, talk with the patient until he falls asleep" A doctor said to him, but a chaos of voices suddenly invaded the operating room.
"What happened?" A voice asked, but Yabu could not see clearly what was happening.
"Hikaru, what's wrong?" He turned to look at his friend, but he had a scared and extremely worried expression.
"Hikaru..." He continued, trying to get up to see what was all that noise, but just came up, Hikaru turned around and told him to get back lying down, but what Kota saw was his Kei, bleeding, paler than ever, he wanted to ask the doctors what was happening, but his voice did not come out, his head ached, and the others voices were distant, his vision blurred and before falling into a deep sleep he heard the continuous sound of the machine that reproduces the sound of Kei's heartbeat, indicating his death.

An alternately sound make him woke up, probably the beating of his heart played by a machine.
He opened his eyes slowly, looking at a white ceiling.
White.
So that was the color corresponding to the word "white", he had forgotten it.
He felt a weight on his body, realizing that, in addition to the machine, there was another sound in the room. Sobs.
He tried to see who or what was on his bed, noticing a black head.
Black.
He loved that color, it represented the person he was in love.
Stretched out his hand to that person, he was crying.
He slowly touched his hair, making him jump.
The boy looked at him for a moment scared, then he threw himself into his arms.
"Chii!" He cried, in a tone mixed with joy and sorrow.
"Chii" Cried again and again, squeezing him harder and harder.
"I'm awake, Ryuu" he said, realizing that he had slept for long, although for him, had only been an hour or two after surgery.
"Where is my brother Ryuu?" He asked, turning the other silent.
Morimoto pulled away from the oldest, trying to look into his eyes.
"I'm sorry..." He said, beginning to cry again.
"I'm very sorry, Chii..." He said again, sobbing like there was no tomorrow.
"I'm sorry..." He said again, hugging the other.
"Ryuu, where's Kei-nii?" Chinen asked again, starting to cry.
