name: Jung Tsu Park
age: 127
gender: M
height: 5'5"
weight: 135lbs
canon point: From Underworld Wars
previous cr:Jung Tsu Park met Suzaku in their previous game (UWW). A deal was struck up where Jung Tsu would provide Suzaku with vampire blood in exchange for something else. Occasionally Jung Tsu would refuse Suzaku the blood he needed. Things changed when Jung Tsu was captured and contained in a cage in the centre of a labyrinth. He was drained of his own blood and on the point of death when he was rescued by Suzaku and a girl he'd become friends with. Despite not wanting to touch the blood of his own kind, Jung Tsu was forced to drink from Suzaku in order to live. It made him feel sick as he tried to push through the sensations. Jung Tsu eventually saw a different side of Suzaku and began to give a damn about the man. He was being manipulated without actually knowing about it.
Carver : Thinks he's an idiot, fed from him and considers him disgusting.
physical appearance: Jung Tsu is your sterotypical Korean although he was blessed to have inherited his mothers good looks. He stands around 5'5" and has a slim body from having made deliveries, running errands to travelling to small business meetings and trade in his pre-vampire days. It probably helped that while his family weren't rich, they were never without money to buy food.
His eyes are a dark brown colour and his hair is usually black and as it has always been, fairly unruly. Though over the years he's changed the style of it to fit along with the time. Nowadays it's down to his shoulders at the back and at the front he has bangs which frame his face though are easily styled out the way. As well as styling his hair, he also occasionally bleaches it and has it dyed to a dark or dark brown.
world information:
☇ They're not undead as such. Normally, one would expect a vampire to require human blood, not be able to walk in the sunlight etc etc - generally, stuff that dead things can't do, they can't do. However, in this world, the way of creating a vampire does not require killing them - hence why 'killing' is used. It simply requires that the potential vampire recieve vampire blood into their veins. The old way used to be a long and rather filthy process, so there aren't a lot of old vampires around anymore, but younger vampires can be turned by injecting blood into their system with needles and what not.
☇ The majority are capable of walking in the sunlight, though they are rather more sensitive to it and likely to burn. The ones that can't walk in the sunlight are the most ancient of vampires - or those who just haven't tried it.
☇ They can eat human food and drink normal stuff. They work all the same inside and they get grumbly tumblys! It's just that they can't absorb the nutrients from normal food very well, so it doesn't help them. To get the nutrients they need and to keep up their strength, they need the blood of humans or of other vampires. The blood of animals can sustain them for a short while, but not very long.
☇ They don't have many super special awesome powers outside of their strength (which is greater than a strong human, but not by a crazy amount). This means none of this fast movement stuff, no tearing trees out of the ground or smashing cars up. No, they have enough strength that they could overpower the strongest of humans and take each other on.
☇ They aren't affected by crosses or garlic or holy water. A great big stick through the heart or beheading will kill them, as will exsanguination. Otherwise, they will live through injuries fatal to humans, won't get sick and will live forever if not killed. Their injuries heal at a much faster rate than humans too.
☇ They do, however, have magical saliva. When feeding, something in their saliva makes it at least a little pleasurable for the person their feeding from - for some people this effect merely makes the bite hurt less, while for others the effect is much stronger. The effect is considerably less if feeding from another vampire. It should be noted that it also has healing properties and can quickly close up bites as well as shallow cuts and grazes. How else do you expect them to have stayed hidden?
☇ That thing about them having no reflections and not being able to be videoed or photographed is also true. However, to a small extent a vampire can will himself to have a reflection - it's something that they've managed to develop over to time, to help them live amongst humans. This skill is weak and can only be used ocasionally, and doesn't give them as solid a reflection/recording as humans. In general, they try to avoid mirrors and cameras as much as possible.
☇ Within the vampire culture and population, there are rules, most pertaining to how to act around humans and other species. However, notably the most important one is that it is forbidden to drink another vampire's blood unless given strict permission. This rule is very rarely broken as vampires who do such are hunted and killed.
history: Jung Tsu Park was born in a village close to Hanyang (Seoul), Korea in 1884, his father was then a trader thanks to the ports being forced open for trade by the Japanese government. His mother was a stay at home wife whenever his father was home and when he was at sea she would work in his fathers family shop, his mother had gained some respect in the family by birthing an heir to the line.
His childhood was fairly normal, often playing with the other children within the village or making deliveries for the shop. During 1895-96 primary school education was brought in to Korea by missionaries though as it wasn't mandatory Jung Tsu wasn't required to go and neither could his parents afford any possible fees. Instead he remained at home where he continued to help out his mother at the shop.
August of 1894 marked the start of the first Sino-Japanese war, a conflict between China and Japan over the control of Korea, due to conscription and the continued, if played down or denied rule by Japan of Korea, Jung Tsu's father was brought into the fight. The war only lasted for around 6 months before peace was forced in February though the fighting didn't stop for another two months. His father had been injured by a shot through the leg though he survived.
Once he was old enough, his father would take him on the trade routes he had. Teaching Jung Tsu how to master a boat, how the ropes worked, how it was steered. Small tasks were given to him to stop him getting in the way of all the grown-ups. Though it wasn't long after his father started to do this that he fell ill and died from a contracted disease and his earlier injury.
Several years passed by with Jung Tsu being the head of his family, though he had guidance from his grandmother on his father's side. He was taught how to run a business and basic mathematics as well as how to read and write.
1904 was a turning point in Jung Tsu's life, he'd been the head of his family for 6 years and was starting to make successful deals with other small businesses when it came to trading. He had been out for the day and it was evening before he headed home where he met someone that would change his life forever. Jung Tsu despite being a business man was still foolish and naive without his grandmothers guidance and could still be incredibly childish, the stranger made no offers and simply lured him away. There was nothing grand about how it happened, no lavishly decorated home or a castle in a far away land, everything happened in an alley way between houses. Jung Tsu had struggled the moment he felt the prick on his neck, not because of the pain but more due to the fact that some complete stranger had lured him here and had bitten him. In a moment of weakness though he wasn't killed but to save themselves the stranger turned Jung Tsu into a creature like himself. He had been told that no one could know that Jung Tsu would have to leave his family or be branded a monster and killed by them. He could hardly make sense of what the stranger had said as he spoke in a thick foreign accent and his Korean wasn't the best in the world.
He had returned home though spent several days in bed recovering from the attack, refusing help from his family, telling them he didn't want any kind of medicine that he would be fine with rest alone. Though as time went on, his strength came back but with it came a terrible hunger. He ate what food and drank the water that was brought to his room but nothing he ate of drank got rid of this hunger. Strong, almost overwhelming, desires to kill and drink haunted him as he tried to understand what had happened.
During the time he had locked himself away, his grandmother and mentor had grown ill and was on her death bed. He visited her alone and his hunger took over, crying as he leaned over, covered her mouth and bit into her, almost draining her completely dry before pulling away. Almost immediately he felt better, no longer weak or hungry. This would be the only point in his new life where he had felt like a monster. Not wanting his family to find out, he fled taking only a little money with him and leaving no note.
Sights and sounds felt completely different, more vivid.
For two years he was on his own, still on the move and never settling. When hunger took him he would kill in the most brutal of ways, not by a simple bite to the neck but by ripping out a humans throat and drinking from them. Leaving them to die in whatever blood they had left or from the lack of it whilst taking their money and whatever possessions looked like they held worth. He was careless but hadn't been taught any other way, he knew nothing about rules. It was only a matter of time before others of his kind had found out about him. Either he was an idiot that didn't care he was breaking lots of rules or he didn't know any better, they had sent someone out to find him and teach him the ways. Jung Tsu hadn't been difficult to find, though he had been careful not to leave an obvious trail. A man by the name of Ivan Berezovsky a Russian vampire 500 years his senior. After their first encounter, Ivan had told him that he had been sent to help him and told him the rules of their kind, that killing humans was not allowed, killing their own kind was punishable by death and that while it would hurt for a while they could go out in sunlight, something he had already found out from himself. Jung Tsu spent the next five years with Ivan where he also taught how to read, write and speak English, skills that would be needed if he were to survive the growing new world. They travelled through lesser known places in Asia and settled in Russia the year before World War I broke out. Life with Ivan wasn't so bad and infinity better than it had been back in Korea, he was exploring, learning new skills and how to settle in to his new life as a vampire. It was all made easier with the fact Ivan wasn't brutal and had a fairly easy nature for Jung Tsu to get along with. Any excess money he came across he made sure to send back to his mother with a note that only held his name, being careful that Ivan never found out about it.
World War I broke out and along with his mentor he fought with the Russian's against the Central Powers. It was during the war that Jung Tsu found out that he was immortal, that he couldn't die.
After the war ended he stopped sending money to his family, letting them believe whatever they wanted about what had happened to him. There was no point in keeping any more ties to his old past. He was a new man, one that would drink human blood, live forever and never age. It was also during this time that he left Ivan, claiming that he wanted to use his new skills in discovering a new world for himself and promised to keep within the rules. Jokingly stating that if he ever killed one of their own he wanted Ivan to be the one to take his life and not some boring old guy.
Jung Tsu left Russia for the powerful country of America. He settled in New York which during the 20's was growing in population from immigrants and Southern migration. It wasn't an unusual thing to have mixed races within the city and despite being Korean with the immigration acts it was one of the few times in his earlier life that he used his being a vampire to get places. After all, who could stop him really? This was his thought and once in the city he made sure to blend in with other immigrants.
America hadn't been like anything he thought it would be, the night life was fairly dull and the people were arrogant compared to the respect he had grown up around back in Korea. For several years he simply wandered around the Eastern states, eventually settling for a job for the underground sale of alcohol since prohibition was in full effect.
One of the cities he visited was Chicago. It was here that he bumped into another vampire by the name of Suzaku Katsumoto who was one of the kinds Ivan had warned him about. Jung Tsu had bumped into a vampire that drank their own kind, of blood and he had the misfortune of falling victim to him, however luckily Suzaku was trying to keep a low profile and didn't kill him instead leaving him severely weakened and in need of human blood. It wasn't until years later that he learned of his attackers identity, yet he told no one about it, not even his friend and mentor Ivan who he still remained in contact with.
The years went on and Jung Tsu still travelled through America to the Western coast until WW2 broke out. Having already fought in the first world war, he decided against joining in this time, too busy with wandering around.
The next biggest thing to happen with Jung Tsu would be in 1960 when he joined in with the Vietnam War, already going five years strong. He fought on the side of the South against the communist North. There was no political or patriotic reason for doing so and had been more out of boredom that he had joined up. Jung Tsu fought to the end and quickly after the war ended he left to avoid questions being asked, 15 years in service, no wounds and never looking a day over 20 would cause a lot of eyebrow raising. He fled back to Korea where he checked out the village area he'd grown up in. He wasn't surprised to see that a lot had changed, in fact with the year and the sorts of developments the world had been making, it was to be expected. He found where the old shop had been and now it was a run down tacky old diner, no one lived here from any of the families that he'd known. What had happened to his mother was unknown. It was a life he'd sworn to let go, but there was a niggle that wouldn't budge until he'd found out. The small grave yard was there with its worn tomestones or rocks that had been etched depending on what you could afford. He found his grandmothers and a small way down was his mothers name, the year 1915 etched under neath as her death year.
Jung Tsu had trouble feeling sadness towards his lost family, that connection had been severed years ago.
His next stop was Seoul, the city had blossomed over the years and he settled down there for the next ten years. Keeping to himself and only feeding when he absolutely had to, but the years passed by with little to excite him.
1985 and Jung Tsu travelled to England, having heard about London and all its attractiveness he made that his first stop. The first thing he noticed and fell in love with, was the night life, all the different nightclubs and the music was something he'd fallen in love with. Never having been one for the kind of 80's hair metal that was around it was the New Romantic era that had caught him. Through until the early nighties he continued to go out, taking all sorts of drugs and later going to raves as his music tastes changed to that of dance and techno. After a while the life in London grew stale and by mid 1997 he went back to America.
Here, he continued his life as he had in London only he returned to his old haunt of New York city. He got a job much like he had the last time he had been there, only this time it wasn't the underground sale of alcohol and rather as an employee of a club. Though as years went by it was time to move yet again unless he brought attention to himself. So he travelled all over America until later 2010.
personality: One thing to note about Jung Tsu is that he never shows any remorse for those he's killed or drank from even if, before, they had been his friend. He is a cold blooded killer though that doesn't mean that he has no likeable traits. Having lived for over a hundred years he's learned a few tricks to charm people and lull them in to a false sense of security, make them believe that he is a nice guy. He may be a killer but because of the rules laid down by his kind he tries not to kill all the time though on the occasion he does get caught up in the moment.
Jung Tsu is fairly easy going and at times loud especially since he has had time to come out of his shell. What's the point in being silent if you're going to live for an unknown number of years? He's become a social person, often going out to parties and attempts to make friends if he intends to live in the one place for more than a few months. He's charming, though this trait only comes out when he has to get what he wants whether it's a meal or a one night stand. He does however have a temper, along with getting caught up in the moment, if you cross him then that is the time when he's more than likely to kill without any kind of second thought. Jung Tsu is either someone you will like or dislike depending on how he sees the person he's speaking to, he has a knack for getting under the skin, being irritating as hell or the nicest sweetest person you have ever met.
Jung Tsu doesn't see himself the same way others do, as what he portrays to other people isn't the real him, it's a fantasy he's created to gain trust. He isn't cynical or bitter in any way but he doesn't care about the world and what's going on in it, as long as he can just live he's fine. The rest of the world have seen him in different ways, from being the business man from his pre-vampire years to the quiet man learning about a new world while trying to play the human. A killer during war and showing some kind of pleasure from it to the newest persona of a party loving raver.
He doesn't show his intelligence as it's something he doesn't feel confident over, having grown jealous over the youth in generations being allowed an education whilst for him he grew up just as it had been brought to his country. He's stubborn as despite having plenty of opportunity to go to college in his life he hasn't done it, believing it is for the people of that generation and not for him. He's happy enough with the education he got from his grandmother or the things he's learned over the years.
Jung Tsu is of the belief that life should be lived however he sees fit and not be dictated by politics or religion which are the main reason why he doesn't pay attention to those worlds. Religion played a big part in his life before becoming a vampire but having been shown this new and at times darker life he doesn't see the point.
abilities/powers: Due to being a vampire, Jung Tsu has increased strength, speed and agility. His strength is higher than that of a body builder, but not superhuman. Jung Tsu also has enhanced hearing.
He does have a downfall which his need for human blood.

[Tablet? Looks interesting, he's poking and prodding at it, turning on all kinds of things, last of which is the video function. He stops when he sees his own face, blinking and tilts his head.]
Now how did I get something like you? Not exactly something someone can slip in a pocket.
[Looking around.]
Eeeeh? Where am I anyway? Do you have a GPS little guy?
third person sample:
The lights danced along the bodies, flashing different colours, mixing with each other to create new ones. They flickered to white and the strobe lighting went off, movement became jumpy as people waved their arms around, leapt around, twisted and contorted themselves. It was the atmosphere he loved, the buzz you got as soon as you entered the massive hall with the DJ up on the stage playing track after track. He always saw new faces, old faces and faces he would never see again if he had his way.
Three times a week he attended the parties, the raves and the clubs, each night different from the last and sometimes the best of his life until the next time. The bass vibrated in his chest, the music pounded in his ears and he was at the bar, mindlessly ordering a drink that would do nothing for him, but who went out and didn't drink any way? Later, later he would find someone and have a real drink, a long one and leave them in some disgusting alley unconscious, clinging to life or dying shortly after as a result of what he was. But that was later and this was now.
Jung Tsu had finished his drink and was weaving through those on the dance floor, glow sticks, whistles, all kinds of trash clipped to their outfits. He wore plain black combats and a white t-shirt with some design printed on it in red ink. He wasn't sure what it was, he had just grabbed it from his pile and left for the night. He found a spot on the dance floor and gave in to the music, turning this way and that, letting people join him and then wander off, he didn't care, his eyes were searching for someone. Anyone that took his fancy where he would move, lay on the charm, flirt, play and then he would lead them outside where he would drink to his fill and leave them.
The night went on until he found who he was looking for, a man standing at the bar, hopefully alone, hopefully he wouldn't be missed and have people searching for him. A look around the hall could tell you that it would be hard to find one person, that with the state everyone was in it was likely no one would notice until the end. Sliding up to the bar beside the man he turned to him with a small smile tugging at his lips. He spoke to him, asked for his name. 'David' how boring. He feigned interest in what this man was saying, it didn't matter any way.
Thirty minutes it took and Jung Tsu stumbled out of the club with David. Down some back alley and drunkenly laughing - oh he was so good at acting - he pressed the larger man to the wall, leaned in and without any kind of warning he bit down hard. The sound of traffic, of laughter and conversation became louder and clearer, smells unfortunately became heavier, thicker and the sights, well if he wasn't currently seeing the wall and David’s hair then it would be sharper. Jung Tsu's senses were thrown into over drive and his hunger was growing as warm blood pumped into his mouth and down his throat. He ignored anything being said or done by Colin...Ross...Andrew, whatever his name was, far too busy in enjoying this meal.
Stop before they die. Never kill a human unless you have to. God he wanted to, he wanted to finish feeding, laughing in the pathetic mans face and rip his throat out, let him rot in this fucking city. But it was a rule, and he'd been almost perfect in following it. He was usually perfect when it came to holding back his anger and not letting humans pay for it, not indulging in his fantasies. He stopped before the brink of death and stepped back, wiping his mouth clean of any blood, he felt better, fuller and calmer. No names, he'd been careful in not giving this idiot something so powerful and he left him there, gasping against the wall, convulsing, Jung Tsu would never know if he lived or died.
