Seems like we are going to have a bit of summer this next week. Maybe more than one day in a row of eighty degree weather. If I hadn't spent 13 years in Texas I wouldn't be able to sympathize with the rest of the country and the heat wave they are having right now given the weather here.
The yard has been interesting since spring. It started with trillium and small white flowers from bulbs then moved onto rhododendrons and azaleas. Now it is the mock orange tree/bush and roses. The rose bushes have gone nuts with all of their blooms.
I spent a lot of time after moving back up here coughing, especially in the morning, with lots of stuff coming out of my lungs. After a few months of not coughing for anything other than a bad cold I think it was from all the smog and crap I breathed in during my time around Dallas. I live far enough away from Seattle to not even see smog, or Seattle for that matter with all the hills and trees. Everything smells different from what I had gotten used to, and taken granted for the last time I lived here. Some mornings the driveway smells of evergreen, cedar or just plain fresh. Hard to explain really. It's also quiet. On cold nights you can hear the cars on 512 and occasionally you can hear the planes over at McChord air force base but it was nothing like living in the shadow of the airport in Irving for so long.
I do find that I miss two fast food places that they just don't have up here. Schlotzkys and Taco Bueno. Silly I know. I've learned to deal with the fact that there is no good mexican food up here, and it helps that I can cook my own.
I won't even go into a rant about where I work. lol
