Basic information for parents about trip to Creating Change -
Meet at GLO at 5:00 am on Thursday 11/9/06. Return to GLO at approximately 5:00 pm on Sunday 11/12/06. We will be staying at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City. (816) 474-4400 The adult facilitators who will be with the youth are Michael DeLeon and Robert Myers. Robert’s cell phone number is (417) 209-6914. Transportation will be via a rented van, to be driven by the adult facilitator Robert Myers. GALAGXY is paying all hotel and transportation expenses, but each youth is expected to be responsible for their own food and all personal expenses. A Youth Hospitality Suite has been planned as part of the conference, and we understand that they will have food available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We originally suggested that each youth have $100 with them for food and/or other expenses, but this much may not be necessary since learning about food available at the Suite. Each youth has already submitted a deposit of $50 to reserve a place on this trip, and this money will be returned to them on Thursday for their personal use for food and other expenses. If anyone anticipates needing more than that $50, he/she will need to have those funds with her/him when we leave.
