*sigh* I love my friends to death and wouldn't give them for the world. It's just that sometimes I could suggest some very simple solutions to their problems. Sometimes I don't know the whole of the situation, but sometimes I do, and I have helped people before. (I have been skilled in the past at getting people back on speaking terms with each other and I am very happy about that.)
I need to get this out there. If you know the names of the parties involved, please don't do anything detrimental to them.
One of my friends (sixteen) is pregnant. She is currently staying with some guy (I don't know him, but he's all right, I hear.) She was on the run for about two weeks since her boyfriend got out of police custody (just a 24-hour hold predicated on probable cause in case something turned up.) She had been staying with another friend of mine, but his mom has said that she can't come back. The police have her in the system as a runaway, and they'd take her back to her dad (who beat her.) So she's working on getting emancipated.
See? She's doing fine. She just has to go to a confidential pregnancy clinic to get proof of pregnancy for the legal system. Then they'd emancipate her, or at least change her guardianship to her boyfriend or another adult friend of hers. The law won't let her and her baby be put at risk by being sent to her dad's if they have substantial proof.
Other than that, I'm fine. Need to register for classes next semester. Actually, I should have done that ages ago, but I've been depressed. This isn't helping.
