WOOT WOOT!!! I got into my program of choice!!!!
SO friends, it happened. Oh yes indeedy do it happened. While I was at work on Friday doing everyday central cashy things, Claire let me know that Sheridan called, and wanted me to call back ASAP........
OMG
They accepted me from the waiting list for Illustration and honestly I couldn't stop smiling all day long! I was sooooo excited!
so now I must pay big bucks for said program...poopicles.
Student loan here I come!!!
I have some money saved up but definitely not enough for three years.
Also in the last few weeks I applied to res as you know...yeah that went down the tubes... 304th on the wait list. yah right. Now I must claim back my $250 deposit from them.
SO today we went to Oakville and back to look at 2 places, one claimed to be across from the campus, a bachelor apartment no less, and was $500 a month, ok sounds cool. The other was a place I looked up online, kinda far from the campus, a little cheaper, $475 but all utilites included, this was in a home and I would only be getting a room and another student would bunk in as well.
I was getting really excited about having my own place...then I freaked out last night....omg, what if I'm alone and I choke on something and I die????? will my body be left for days????? When will they find my body??? two months after I croak????
OK ok I'm overreacting, but it really freaked me out, the idea of living alone became increasing scary for me.
So we load up in the car, Dad, Claire, me and Bruce who is a friend of the family, a work buddy of my dad's and the one who found the apartment across the road from the campus. We leave at 5:45 am and travel all the way to Oakville. We visit the campus first....I was a little in awe of it. It was very cool. We then visit the first place, the one with the room in a house. The lady seemed so sweet,Her name was Roma, (a little Irish woman) and she showed me the two rooms, the first was a little small....but the second was larger and had a view of the street, a big bay window. This area is so pretty, when we went to visit around the area...I fell in love with it. It's this quaint little village, and it's right on Lake Ontario. It feels so comfy, I really did love it.
Even though I love this place, I give the second one a go too.....SO we get there and the landlady had been gone for the weekend and it turns out her sister rented out the room already! But it wasn't for a bachelor apartment...it was for a room in a condo shared with 3 other people! She then offered a place with her...a tiny room. But she usually doesn't rent out to girls...she prefers boys. Bad experiences she said. This room was so cramped, and it had the tiniest window. She would also rent out a second room in her condo...but it would be a guy....ooookkkk. Let's try to avoid that. We got out of there, and as soon as we did I said "lets call Roma!!!!"
SO we signed the lease, it's great too! for 8 months, cable and internet are included and I have access to laundry and kitchen facilities.
I think I'm going to like it in Oakville. *knocks on wood*
OH, I just had my room painted too, (convient eh? ;p) 4 walls, 2 colours. a burgandy purple and a green tinted beige. It looks very grown up. Which is something that I am not, but I love it anyway.
Ok so now I have to put everything back into my room, because it looks bare without my stuff. And it's very echoy.
