I get a almost Russian folk dance feel from it. Slow and stately, rather than brisk. Or even marching. Soldiers marching and then it becomes light and melodic. So I don't know. I can get a dance feel from it.

I suppose it could be some sort of stately pavane or something, yes. If you stand on your head when you listen to it. :) It's supposed to be about the inevitability of death, though. A sort of funeral dirge/march kind of thingamajigger.

That's probably why you're only 80% Prime, as opposed to 100%, you good self-sacrificing noble person, you. ;)

Well, I guess we know which of us is really the evil twin, now, huh? :)

And yay for Tunes of Angst, yes. ;)

On a random, tarantula-related note, I thought you might be interested in this.

Wanna spider. :) I emailed the SPCA in question. Doubt I'll get it but it's worth a shot, eh? :)

But yeah, it's not like Ts require a lot of money spent on them. Particularly not baboons. Give 'em 10" of dirt and a couple crickets a week and they're happy as clams. You don't even have to give them water, although I know that notion gives you the willies. ;)

Now see, I could write a rant about this one. It's a baboon tarantula. No baboon tarantula is "deadly." Why do "news"writers feel such a need to demonize tarantulas? I don't get it... I guess it's because the clueless public just eats it up. Anyway, a bite from a baboon will hurt like heck because their fangs are large. The venom, however, will not kill you. *rolls eyes* Not even close. You're much more likely to be done in by a black widow, and being done in by a black widow is EXCEEDINGLY rare. The venom is no more painful than wasp venom and, as far as anyone knows, no one is allergic to tarantula venom as many, many people are of bee/wasp/ant venom. *sigh ( ... )

Oh, Bethoven, yesss... I also like his compositins a lot. I'm such a typical fan and my favorites are 5th and 9th (there is a very popular rock song in Spain based on 9th) Whatever is it, , Bethoven has "Something" than makes you to recognize his work, no matter how.
Thanks for the background history lesson; it's always pleasant learning new things. I love classic music, but I am SO clumpsy with my music ear and I cannot recognize many masterpieces, neither to la-la-la them.
(Althought look at his Opera AMV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynJsR... It's amazing)

Megatron: I also got him........... For some reason, I cannot see you as (Movie) Meggs. Perhaps it's a side effect for being a D-con fan ^_~

The author is Miguel Rios, and his song is commonly known as "Hymn of joy", but the English edition is called "A Song of Joy"I've looked some videos on Youtube, but none of them is good enough; however, here is a link ( ... )

Ahhh, I LOVE this movement. Actually, it's one of the pieces I play while I'm writing my Flamestrike fic.

Right now, the feeling I get from it (which I'm using for my fic) is a sense of gradual deterioration, and the eternal struggle to fight it. Nothing flashy or overly dramatic, just the ebb and flow of an inner emotional or mental battle.

*sighs happily* Good choice this week! Do you take requests? :-)

I love the whole 7th. Movement 2, though, is pretty fic-inspiring for some reason, yes. One would think it would be boring because it's pretty repetitive, rhythmically speaking, but somehow it just works. I guess that's part of the genius of Beethoven.

In fact, I like this piece so much that I arranged it for string quartet. With perhaps a bit of judicious transposition, it'd likely work for a wind quartet, too, if you're interested... Maybe oboe, horn, clarinet, and bassoon or some such. Or three clarinets and a bass clarinet. Someone will have to decode the viola part's alto clef, though... SCARY!!! ;)

And sure, I'll take requests. :)

*laughs* You'd be surprised at what I've transposed. When we did "Pippin" at my college, we had no violas, so my clarinet teacher gave me the viola book two weeks before the performance. I was reading:

My own part
Viola part in treble clef (transposed)
Viola part in alto clef (transposed)

And the Alto clef part was actually easier for me to read...I think I changed the key signature and read it as if it were bass clef or something...but it worked!

But oh, was my head messed up by the end of each performance!

Requests, eh? Hmmm....how about Gorecki Sym #3....first or second movement. :-) That is truly one of THE most beautiful pieces out there.

Wow, that's quite a feat. o_O And I amaze cellists when I can play a piece written in treble clef in cello range, reading the notes and simultaneously knocking it down an octave (or two) as I play. To me, it's easy, but to them...They can't deal with it. But you've got me beat by a mile ( ... )
