A very long shot, but what the heck?
I know there are at least two people on my flist currently living in Oklahoma. For evil and nefarious fic purposes, I'm looking for information about and, ideally, pictures of northeasten Oklahoma. Specifically the Bluestem Lake area and the town of Foraker, which apparently had a population of 23 as of the year 2000.
Has anyone who might be seeing this ever been in that area of Oklahoma and, if so, can you give me a description of it? I realize that "flat" would be an apt description, given that it's Oklahoma, but I'm looking for specific things like maybe the types of trees/grass/flowers that grow there, if any, if it's ranchland, if it's excessively dry, if it's an area where lots of people go to for recreation (regarding the lake, specifically) or if it's fairly deserted, etc. etc. Stuff like that. Anything distinctive. Stuff that would/could be incorporated into the description of the setting of a fic. I'm doing an Internet search for info, but if anyone's actually been in that area, it would likely be more helpful than what I can find on the Internet...
