Gosh, what a gorgeous day! 65 degrees. Perfectly clear. Not a cloud in sight, not even any high cirrus. Just a huge expanse of bright blue southwestern Colorado sky. There is nothing like the southwestern Colorado sky. It is a shade of blue that I have never experienced anywhere in the entire world. The only thing that comes even remotely close is the sky in the middle of nowhere in Africa. But even there, it's just not quite as gorgeous. It must be a combination of altitude and the purity of the air here that does it. Whatever it is, it is just incredible, something that has to be seen to be believed. Makes me glad to be alive, not just glad to live here, when I see it.
Tonight is orchestra rehearsal. Instead of Keith conducting rehearsal, because he's got a performance tonight, we have...the pricipal violist of the New Mexico Symphony. Should be...er, interesting. Hope Keith told her that we're a bunch of amateurs with Real Jobs playing music for which we don't have enough players and with a good percentage of string players who've only been playing for three years or less... Methinks the poor lady's in for a rude awakening...and a headache. ;)
weather blather,
