I LIVE...sort of...

Good Lord, I can't believe it's been a month since we got back from the cruise. Where did the month of April go? I still haven't download pics and video from the camcorder yet, for cryin' out loud! Sheesh!

Well, for me, the month of April was spent -- or so it seemed, at least -- entirely at the office. Got back from the cruise to a stack of work and it just never seemed to get any smaller. And now the company I work for is having trouble with the developer of one of the projects we're working on (i.e. he isn't paying us and said project has been shut down) and...it's just a mess. Now we have to justify every single penny we've spent on building this development. Good God in heaven help me. :p No fun. But at least it makes the days go by quickly, which is probably why I can't account for about three-quarters of the month of April.

Other than working...Well, I try to play the cello a bit here and there. We have a concert next Friday, the last of the season. Am I ready for it? HAH! Instead, I spend my free time reducing/arranging the second movement of Beethoven's 7th symphony for string quartet. Why? Because I want to. Because it will sound good. And because it was fairly easy to do since a good portion of the movement is strings-only anyway, and the bass part basically doubles the cello part, just knocked down an octave, so I can effectively ignore it. :) And I'm almost done with it, too. Just have to finish articulations and dynamics and such. I've got all of the notes...I think... I need to listen to the symphonic version a few times to be certain. So, anyway, that ate my free time for the month. :)

And then there's the house. We went to our subdivision's architectural committee meeting thing last night and found out that both of the ideas for the addition to the house are fine and dandy with them.Yeesh, they gave far more hassle to the poor couple who just wanted to put up a little dog run. We, on the other hand, are either going to rip off our roof and add a second floor or dig up the back yard and add a 20x26 two-story addition. Quite a bit more dramatic than a dog run. :)

Anyway, now to get estimates on both to see if we can afford to do the one we'd really like to do (the digging-up-the-back-yard one) or if we'll have to "settle" for our second choice (The ripping-off-the-roof one). Either way, we'll have two more bathrooms, so I'll be happy. And I think I actually did a better job at designing the second-choice option, seeing as I fit both new bathrooms directly above the existing one. No mean feat when you've only got a long, narrow rectangle of an existing house that was NOT designed to have a set of stairs plopped into it and with only one teeny 5x8 bathroom to work with. :) But, either way, happiness will ensue. No more sharing that single teeny bathroom with two pre-teen boys! :D We're HOPING to start work in June. We'll see how it goes with the pain-in-the-butt developer at work so that we'll know if my boss will contribute to our l'il project. *crosses fingers*

And...that's about my life at the moment. Other than a really bad case of KITT-obsession lately. God help me, I thought of a fanfic idea. HELLLLLLLP MEEEEEEE! :)
