Writing woes :p

You know, I was hoping to have some ficcy inspiration for tactile_contact's artistic endeavors here, but... I don't know what my problem is. Lately, it seems that I just can't write for crap. Especially, I can't write PJ for crap, which is really, really, REALLY frustrating. Especially because I don't know why I can't write them. It's really starting to worry me

In and of itself, it's not entirely crappy, really. But I was leading myself in a direction that I didn't want to go, and I just couldn't seem to pull myself away from that direction. That, and it was going to end up being pages and pages of dialogue and exposition of a sort, and many of the chapters in the story are already like that, of necessity. I didn't want another "talky" chapter if I could avoid it, but no matter what I did this past weekend, all I could come up with was more talkiness, and it was frustrating. And unfortunately, when I'm frustrated, I tend to think that anything and everything that I write is utter crap. It's a spiral, and it just gets worse the more frustrated I get.

But, I figured out a way to make the chapter less talky and expository, so all is well now. Now I just need the time to write the darn thing, which likely won't happen until...oh...Sunday. :p Curse this whole Real Life thingy!

And yes, hopefully it won't be long until "Redemption" is done. This PJ chapter and a tricky section that Frosty is working on are the last chapters to be written. Then some of the chapters need a bit of touching up since, in some cases, it's been years since they were written. Then they go to kidu, out faithful and amazingly patient beta. Then we decide which of her comments to heed and then do the necessary touch-ups, and then...THEN it will be done. And there will be much rejoicing. At the very least, Frosty and I will be doing much rejoicing because once that monster is done we can move on to much funner stuff. Like, say, The Great Saga of PJ and KITT, f'rinstance. :)
