Well, still no snow, but I did have to scrape a layer of frost off of my car this morning and the mountains are covered with snow. So, winter is setting in here in SW Colorado...But still no snow below 9,000 feet yet. Bummer. It snowed on the Eastern Slope instead. Bet
rusty_chevy is happy... ;)
And it's slow here at work lately, although it's really only the calm before the storm. We're supposed to be overhauling our accounting system, and as of two weeks ago, we only had five weeks to do it. Except that now it's two weeks later and still no one seems to have a clue as to what we're supposed to be doing. So...Here we sit. Most frustrating, it is. But hey, it gives me time for lunchtime journal entries, so I guess that in the grand scheme of things, it's not all that bad, eh. I'm just waiting for the announcement that my co-worker (who is going part time on Monday and then leaving entirely at the end of the month) and I will have to do five weeks of work in one week. Or less. And then, when it doesn't get done, there will be finger-pointing at everyone except for the people whose fault it will be that it doesn't all get done on schedule because they didn't get done what they were supposed to do. *grumble* Ah well. We will deal, as we always do. :)
On the upside: COMPANY CAR, BABY! :D Rumor has it that as of Monday, the brand-new 2005 Subaru Outback Turbo that my departing coworker is now using will become mine. This has not yet been officially confirmed to me by the owner of the company, but said departing cowoker seems pretty confident that it will happen. And that, my friends, will be too awesome for words. No more paying for gasoline! *dances* And I'll have a car with less than 5,000 miles on it, which means that I can give the poor DeceptiBuick a well-earned vacation. :D
...Of course, if this doesn't happen, I'll be really disappointed now. It almost makes me wish that my departing coworker didn't tell me this. So, we'll see what happens over the next couple of days. If I do get the car...Well, then maybe I'll be willing to put in huge amounts of hours to get the accounting system working the way it should be...
In other news, the concert is Friday night...and I am laughably unprepared for it, I'm afraid. Sometimes I wonder if I should even be in the orchestra because A) I just really don't have time to practice and B) I often don't feel like driving the 1.5 hour-one-way haul down to Farmington after a long Monday at work to rehearsals and then not getting home until 10:30 at night after dodging deer and elk all over the place. But...it's just too much fun to quit. Even if I'm only a half-arsed player, it's still fun.
I'm still wondering why Keith added LOTR music to the program, though. It...really doesn't go well with a mass and a Te Deum by Zoltan Kodaly... But hey, whatever. It's easy music to which I can actually contribute fully, so I guess I shouldn't complain, eh?
And I think that's about enough rambling for the day. Now to go over to the Rec Center and use the year pass that was yet another work perk and hop on a recumbent bike or something...
