Cecil is super physically affectionate

just anything at all about Cecil being really cuddly with Carlos, and like giving him casual neck massages while he's at work and rubbing his hand up and down his back while they're chatting to people, and resting his hand under his shirt on his stomach while they flop on the couch and watch council mandated tv

Carlos was never much of a touchy-feely sort.
There were the hugs and forehead smacks from his parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins, of course, but that was that and this was this. He wasn't good with--with romance.
He was ... well. Shy, he supposed. Yes, shy seemed fairly accurate. Touch didn't offend him, really, or make him uncomfortable. It just--it made him nervous. Scientific method was one thing, but cuddling and showing affection were so far outside his realm that Carlos hadn't thought the possibilty would ever come up.
And it wasn't as if--that is to say, Carlos didn't dislike it--Cecil's tendency to, to touch. It wasn't bad. Not at all.
But what was he supposed to do?
"--and so I was like, yes, of course I want the green one! Really, what do you think I am? Even Steve Carlsberg could tell you that the green cardigan was where the money was at. Okay, no, he probably couldn't, but still." Cecil was prattling--about his recent trip to the new clothing shop in town, Mini Pinki or something like that--

A few days later, Carlos was in his lab, consulting his trusty video recordings and trying to figure out why every video that had been shot in Night Vale was suddenly in thermal vision and the audio replaced with the unholy shrieking of a liter of floating kittens when the laboratory door burst open and an all-too-familiar voice called, "Carlos? Are you al--ah

Carlos still isn't sure how Cecil convinced him to sit quietly in the studio with the radio host and wait for him to finish.
It sounded like an easy enough job, and Carlos figured it was the least he could do after missing their last two dates, but if he didn't know any better, he would say Cecil was mad after all, because he was making it really hard to sit still and be silent

Last part! A bit short, I know, but I was trying to add in one public cuddle before it was over.

Carlos still wasn’t used to the shameless public displays of affection Cecil seemed to create without notice.
Take now, for instance, as he tried bargaining with Old Woman Josie for the Mysterious Wailing Teacup set she was advertising on Etsy, Cecil’s eyes intense and serious, fingers of one hand hooking into Carlos’ belt loop as he uses his other hand to gesticulate and point. The more heated the conversation got, the closer Cecil seemed to subconsciously pull Carlos, until the scientist was fitted to his side, indignant howls ringing in Carlos’ ears.
It was a little embarrassing, what with the crowd of Erikas looking on unblinkingly at the two of them, and it was embarrassing when Cecil did this sort of thing in the street, something intimate and obviously amorous. It wasn’t bad, per se, but Carlos felt a bit like a child out in public with an over-affectionate parent content to dote on their offspring even as strangers watched.
