World Name: Tokyo
Description: "Tokyo" as the entirety of the country is known,
is a desert world, a wasteland of what must have once been a city, where the buildings have been
reduced to rubble by the acid rain and the only still standing places are used as shelter--the Tokyo Tower and the Diet/Government Building. Protected initially by two magical feathers that created a kekkai (barrier) around the locations and kept them from eroding due to the rain, the Tokyo Tower is currently unprotected, and the people who had previously sought refuge there are instead staying together with those of the government building, protected by the one remaining feather deep within their underground reservoir of unpolluted water.
In general, Tokyo is far from a "safe" world. Many areas are uninhabitable, and others heading to become that way as the rain drags away at the land more and more.
Adorable monsters, formerly animals that mutated in the acid conditions, lurk about, especially at night where the world is at its most dangerous. They also happen to be the only source of food, and need to be hunted in large parties; usually, the easiest of which to bring down being
delicious giant worms. General attire for these hunting trips (or really, any venturing outside of the shelter) includes long
cloaks or jackets to protect from the rain, gloves, and weaponry such as old guns or crossbows, etc.
Space moped-type things are used for travel, though it's safe to assume they are not as readily available.
Finally, due to the difficulty of survival, it is typical for groups in different shelters to engage in fights over the minimal resources. In fact, those previously in the Tower group were once deep in rivalry with the Government Building group. And when the rivalry was broken and the people agreed to live together, they were given guidelines to follow to co-exist properly, decided by the two previous leaders of the respective groups: Kamui, and a treasure hunter named Fuuma.
Permanent portal location: Just at edge overlooking the underground water reservoir in the Diet Building.
