In which I sound heartless
I have a life update half finished in a word doc, but I've got to let something off my chest.
Let me preface this with recognizing and feeling the tragedy that 9/11 is. I do NOT question or deny that.
Now that we've hit the week of the anniversary I think the news popping up is completely warranted. We need time to reflect, mourn, remember. My heart goes out to all those directly and indirectly affected not only by the event but the following war, economic, and world struggle. A couple from our town was on one of the planes (the 2nd I believe) that went into the towers. A classmate of mine has done three tours in Afganistan. I live in the US with its shit economy and job situation which may or may not be related. I get it. I remember exactly where I was.
But starting all of this a month early or so? I think it's a bit much. If I was directly affected, I think it would only make a few days of more hell then usual into a month of it. I just...really wish the media and money grabbers would back off sometimes.
