Interesting afternoon. Actually, as I lead a dull life it was quite exciting.
So I'm sitting here online and I think I went to get a cup of coffee or something and I feel a thud from a tree falling and the music on the computer stops. This surprised me very little, as one of the trees hit the power lines last week. Oh, for those of you who don't know, the lumberjacks have been working next door for a couple weeks. Anyway, I go outside to see what's up and they're all clustered next to this house. Apparently the tree fell in the opposite direction it was supposed to (which I find is understandable as those things way 15k lbs) and it tore one of our powerlines. So I chatted with the tree guys for a few and went to call PSNH (my grandparents were down at Parkland as a result of a cat bite). I sat there and smoked one of my rolleys and one of the guys asked me if it was a joint or a cigarette. I said "I wish." Come to find out he has fascilities at home for growth (wink wink). Then the hose valve burst off and it starting spewing forth water and I had to go down cellar to turn it off. PSNH came, and Grampa came home -- Grampa was a bit irritated, and he and Grammie went out for lunch. The PSNH dude told me there was a hole in the roof so I cut a piece of wood with the table saw, nailed it to the roof, and then used some wood glue to seal it the best I could because it's supposed to rain with a vengence today. After I did that I helped the tree guys rake up all the shit into a pile, then I pulled out the tiles that were broken in the walkway.
So I guess it's been an interesting day thus far and I still need to tell Grampa about the hole in the roof. He's gonna love that as he just had the roof done a couple months ago. Ugh! But the tree people are really cool -- so I guess it'll all be good in the long run.
Later.
