Yeah, I'm sitting in the TOC in front of one of the many computers doing nothing as usual and I figured I should let people know what is going on in the sandbox. Well for starters, as many of you know I'm in Kuwait, not Iraq. I move up north early to mid November. Right now I'm in Camp Buehring. If you look it up and can't find it look for Udari, Kuwait. The camp name changed from Udari to Buehring. I am bored as all hell. There is not a whole lot to do here. Buehring is a deployment camp so they skipped a lot of good stuff when setting up this camp. Without getting into tons of details, I work for III Corps and I'm the G-2, thats intel for those who don't know. I give a briefing in the morning and at night, update the map, and sit here for about nine hours doing nothing. I could do my job in about two hours a day. But I was told that I have to be in the TOC for about thirteen hours a day. The bullshit behind this is, 'Someone has to be in the TOC at all times, at the very least to answer the phones.' Really the only good thing is that I have internet and phone use whenever I want. I'm not going to put my address in the post for security reasons. If you want it e-mail me, james.roderick@us.army.mil, I get it to you.
