Lucky Number 7?

I caught squirrel #7 this morning. It's a small one, again, (I can't tell if it's a child or an adolescent or just a small adult, I don't know squirrels well enough, thought at this point I think it might be wise to start reading up on them.) and brown and dark grey fur.

As I drove past the only church in our mostly synagogue infested neighborhood, I noticed two squirrels staring at each other and then at me. They were big, and light gray, with snow white tummies. One sat up, showing his big white belly. Asserting dominance. Staring at me.

I checked my captive when I arrived at work. I walked it to the end of the block, to the high underbush next to the (LIRR) train tracks. His bottom wasn't very white, he didn't look much like the threatening squirrels at all. He was frantic, bashing from side to side. As soon as I unlatched the first lock, he shot out like lightening. I could barely follow him up the half-collapsed fence, and dropped down into the underbush and vanished.

Perhaps not the best place to leave a squirrel, judging by my never seeing any in the immediate area, but I had to get to work, and it's a warm day (55 degrees, yay! Too bad it drops back to below freezing in two days) so his chances of survival seems decent.

and then... I returned to my ancestral house this evening, and again, while in my parents room, I heard scratching above... I reset the trap in my room before I left.
