Ouch. There is hurt.

Oh, yeah, that's why they call it Black Friday. I remember now. That's why usually stay home on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

So for the first time in years, I was out of the house on Black Friday, only because I've got that part time retail cashier thing going on now.
So the store opening was set for 6am, and I was on opening shift, so I arrived at work at 5:45. There were already like 200-300 people lined up outside the store waiting for opening, some of whom had been there since 4am (according to the manager who'd been there since 3). So I get situated at my register, and realize that I don't have any spare bags. I run to the storage room to get a box full, and, as I was walking back to my register with this heavy box of bags in my arms, they open the doors, and this flood of people rushes in. There doesn't seem to be any pushing and shoving but I did nearly get run over on the way back to my register by someone who decided it would be easier to cut through the registers than follow the flow through the entrance-way (and I heard there was a little bit of trouble just before opening with line-cutters outside). All in all, while it was a large, intense crowd, they were being reasonably civil to each other (but I'm still glad I had the register between me and them for the most part), unlike the Wal-Mart across the road, where by 8:30 I had people coming through my line saying that people had been/were being arrested for assault, and kids were being run down by with shopping carts in the aisles. (My theory on why this is is that the classy people come to Target)
So, 8 hours of on my feet and smiling later, I come home and collapse. I've been awake from my nap for about an hour, and I really do hurt. It's going to be thundery and wet and cold at market tomorrow, so I'm trying to see if I can weasel out of going.

In other News:

I had a great Thanksgiving, with good Chinese takeout and even better company (note: I'm thankful for good friends, my boyfriend, and good restaurants).

The redo of my website proceeds at a snail's pace. The pictures are fixed, but the code for what I want to do is giving me fits. I'll probably leave the rum out of my drinks tonight, as in my current state it's more likely to put me to sleep than help me concentrate.

I've determined that Computers may as well function on magic, as far as I'm concerned. I do not know how or why they work. I just feed it code and it does things (or not, depending on the whims of the gods that day). I am working on making a larger metaphor of this that will likely draw heavily from Hex in the Discworld novels .

I think that's it for now.
