I'm not going to go into great detail about what happened, but I'll talk.
Walking in, the place was hugely crowded. But at around 5am, it's more or less empty, except for the gaming room and the video rooms and a few stragglers. A lot of people complimented my clothes and took pictures of me (I wasn't in costume; just dressed in tights/skirt/shirts as usual), which was kind of strange but very flattering. I bought an adorable little hat with white lace-up on black, so it matched my boots.
Umm. I'm not describing this in a very orderly fashion. >.>
Anyways. Then there was a guy holding an art contest, so Clare, Rainy, Izzy, and Autumn all sat down and did their best. Later, I made friends with the guy and found out it was all made up, which I found pretty funny. But I did get some free art out of it from a really talented girl with Ganguro fashion who let me have one of her drawings, and Jennifer (what the guy told me to call him) let me have one of the ones she gave him. :D
We made good friends with a guy named Chris, because he was in drag for his job at one of the booths, and I told him he was hot (which he actually was). He hung out with us a lot, although he was quite popular at the con and hung out with a few other people, too. On Saturday, we hung out with his friend, Veed, and a few other kids who were pretty awesome.
On Saturday, we went to the rave, which kind of sucked, although they did play some good music. But I was really, really mad at Joey, because he had been posing with his hand out and I put my mouth on it (not in a slobbery way, but still a mouth over a hand), and he was like, "Dude...that's fucking gross." And he just looked so disgusted. I said, "Fuck you," and walked off. Then, apparently Ed called Ham a bitch for a very stupid reason, from what I understand, so I was pissed at her (although I admit I wasn't there when she said it, so I don't know exactly what happened). And to top it all off, I asked Jeremy to dance with me, and he said no and kind of pulled away in the way that just makes me feel pathetic. I started crying and walked off.
There was a really nice kid, though, who was asking everyone for hugs, and when he saw me crying, he came over and hugged me and asked what was wrong, which did make me feel a little better. I talked to him a lot later that night, too.
On Friday night, some guy with long hair who'd been hanging out with Drunk Vash came up to me and we started talking. He showed me a bunch of his art, which I must say was amazing, and then said very bluntly that he thought I was really hot. I got the impression that he the kind of guy who hit on girls a lot (mainly because he talked about usually getting slapped when he hits on girls), but it was still flattering. And he was pretty cool, so I wasn't like, "Awkward! I'm leaving." I just kind of giggled and thanked him.
Word of advice if you ever go to a convention: bring either lots of cash or a credit card, and lots of food and drink. Pretty much no vendor took checks, and we all lived almost completely on the food the girls had brought, although one of the vendors, a particularly awesome guy, brought some pizza and spaghetti and stuff for anyone wandering the corridors at 5am on Sunday morning. It was very cool.
So, I got two volumes of Someday Dreamers, some manga called Princess Azuri or something like that (with dolphin/whale type furries, sort of), the third volume of Master Keaton, Volume 00 of The Fuccons, and a hentai that Galen got a second of in an adult grab bag. Also, Galen got three volumes of a manga called 0/6 because I really wanted to read it. <3
Jeremy got the box sets of Cromartie High School, Kino's Travels (or something like that), and some satire anime that I can't remember the name of, but it was long and in Japanese and maybe started with an 'A'. Goddamn, I really wanted a Totoro shirt, but the only places that sold it didn't take checks. I also wanted a bell to put around my neck, but they were out of the ones I would have wanted, and they were also pretty expensive.
Anyways, I'm sure I forgot a billion things, but I'll just type anything I remember when I upload the pictures from it. ^^ I wish I'd taken some of Jeremy, who wore my clothes all weekend. :3 So colourful and cute.
Jeremy and I were mad at each other a lot on Sunday, and I was depressed much more than I would've liked on Saturday, but it was still a really good weekend. I'm happy to have made new friends, too.
