Why the fuck Yaha didn't know how to cook was beyond Roman, but here they were in his kitchen, wearing matching Kiss the Cook aprons and preparing what was, quite frankly, an absolutely fabulous meal of eggplant parm. Yaha's hair is only slightly caked with flour and breadcrumbs, and Roman hasn't burst any blood vessels, so he reckons the lesson a success. Not nearly as successful as his flawless victory in the swivel chair race they had before the cooking lesson, of course; the way Yaha had spilled from the chair when its wheel had gotten stuck on the grate in the basement floor was frickin' hilarious. I never really thought about Aslan much when I was first reading the books: I started out with Silver Chair and worked my way backwards, so Aslan was sort of only vaguely alluded to, and it never occurred to me that he was some kind of Christian allegory until, uh, high school, actually. And even then someone else had to tell me.
What I do remember clearly, though, is wishing I could be Lucy when she cried into Aslan's mane.
