Edgeworth's daemon Lucia is a small, sleek beagle with clear eyes and an alert manner. She's deeply curious and, though somewhat cautious, quick to investigate and explore as soon as she's comfortable in her surroundings. She's kind, protective, and - though serious in demeanor - easily betrayed by her wagging tail.

[phaseshifts]

[Guess whose daemon enjoys messing a bit with yours, Edgeworth? Adriana ye black panther is as much of a tease as her person, and she comes what's likely a little too close for comfort to plant her big platter-paw right on Lucia's back. Gently. No claws. Not even a prickle! But.]

[And Lucia is a sturdy thing, but she's also quite small. That paw covers most of her back. Lucia is slightly more patient than her partner, and so she doesn't immediately twist and snarl at that pressure, but she does try to wiggle out.

Edgeworth, on the other hand, is glaring at Tyki.]

Call your cat off.

[phaseshifts]

[Tyki seems as sedate as Adriana, at least right now. Both of them are predators, capable of bursts and storms of violence.

Adriana crouches to swipe her tongue over Lucia's head.]

Hmm? She's not hurting her.

[Lucia settles down on all fours, her expression distinctly unhappy. The hackles on her back are starting to rise - just a little bit, but it's clear she's not enjoying this teasing whatsoever.]

She's violating her personal space.

[Edgeworth himself makes a small gesture like he wants to push the creature off, but of course he cannot.]

[phaseshifts]

She's friendly.

[Adriana settles down, looking comfortable and moving her paw to the top of Lucia's head, spreading out her toes.]

[A small growl starts in the back of Lucia's throat even as her head lowers to her front paws. Her back legs stand up; her tail is between her legs.]

Then have her be friendly elsewhere. I'm warning you.

[phaseshifts]

So standoffish. What has she ever done to your little doggie? For that matter, what have I ever done to you?

For one, she's stepping on her head -

[Edgeworth is so frustrated and distressed by the situation that he actually drops to one knee, laying a hand calmingly on Lucia's hindquarters, carefully avoiding touching the cat's paw.]

She doesn't like to be teased!

[phaseshifts]

[Adriana moves her paw to Lucia's shoulders again, lowering her head once more and licking across the dog's face.]

She's not hurting her.

[mentis_reae]

[Edgeworth jerks his head up furiously - then holds his hand a few inches from Adriana's flank warningly.]

Call her off.

[phaseshifts]

[Adriana lifts her head and for the first time her lip wrinkles up and shows her teeth. Also for the first time, there's a prickle of claws against Lucia's skin. Tyki keeps smiling.]

Are you sure about that?

[Edgeworth falters ever so slightly, knowing the wrongness of it - but Lucia's whine of anxiety and pain, and the matching sensation in his own skin, firm his resolve again.]

[phaseshifts]

[Tyki's own weight subtly shifts. He slides his hands out of his pocket so they're free to move. If it's a touch, it'll be disgusting, an a moment of weakness, but he is plainly stronger than Edgeworth and he will make the man regret it. And Adriana will make the dog sorry for it too.]

So unfriendly.

[Edgeworth hesitates a moment longer - and then squeezes his eyes shut, and clenches his teeth, and shoves. He feels ill with what he's done, and the shove scarcely budges Adriana's weight, but Lucia takes advantage of the opportunity. Her claws dig into the ground and she scrabbles out from underneath the panther - but she doesn't flee. She immediately turns and presses tightly against Edgeworth, her teeth bared aggressively but her eyes deeply unhappy.]

[phaseshifts]

[Adriana leaps away from the touch, and Tyki stumbles, falters as if he's fainting - but Adriana whips back round the moment she's not in contact anymore and aims a claws-out, powerful slap towards the dog, not caring if she strikes Edgeworth too.]
