(no subject)
So.. it's been a long while since I've posted. With good reason, too. Life's been pretty hectic of late. Aside from the usual craziness generated by working in a jewelry store in the largest regional mall in the area during the holiday season, I've also been preoccupied with some other big news.
Namely.. my grandparents have moved here to Indiana.
A few months ago, we all sat down together and discussed where our lives were going, what our plans were, and what we were financially capable of. And quite frankly, moving back to Long Island was a risky proposition at best and a catastrophe in the waiting at worst. Justin and I live here quite comfortably, the area has grown on me, the people are friendly, the cost of living is low, and the dollar stretches a lot further here.
However, I wanted to be closer to my grandparents and they wanted the same. So.. the only real decision was for them to move. Singlehandedly, and in the space of two months, my grandfather cleaned out the entire house that they'd lived in for fifty years, and a few days ago they arrived here. There's a wonderful retirement community here in Fort Wayne, and.... it's right across the street from where we live. I could literally walk across the street to go see them whenever I wanted. Needless to say, this is a huge relief on both sides.
They're still in the process of settling in, but everything is going well so far!
