I don't remember the last time I was able to say that. The phrase "Life is Good" feel so foreign to me. The last several weeks have been a whirlwind, and while stresses at work are reaching a boiling point, and life at home is growing increasingly worse, I couldn't be happier. The Faire Season has officially begun! Hallelujah, Yeh-Bo, Huzzah, whatever for of exclamation is preferred, the best part of my year has started. It was wonderful seeing everyone at the meeting on Sunday, and I look forward to the point in the summer where we'll be playing with each other every week. Those who are no longer part of the Family this season, we miss you! You are always - ALWAYS - welcome expected to pay a visit at least once! I am so happy with the scripts I am beside myself. After years of a slightly awkward balance between historical and fantastical, I am thrilled to see that Dave and Paul have helped solidify a distinct perspective. Ignoring that, the scripts were freakin' amazing! I cannot wait to see how these ambitious, thrilling shows pan out; even moreso, I can't wait to see what the reaction will be from both Patrons and non-returning cast members.
Faire aside, there are some other fiercely exciting things going on in my life right now. Not to be a tease, but I can't discuss them at length just yet. More information will come within the next few months, but suffice it to say that I was right when I said that 2008 would be a banner year for me. I expect to see a growth in myself during the coming months unlike any I've encountered since graduating high school, and good or bad it's very, very exciting. For the first time I feel like an adult, not a young-adult in grown up clothing. I'm so proud of myself!
AND one of my favorite authors published a new book in the series that has been at a standstill since 1999! After nine years Seregil and Alec are back, and I can't wait to read what they get themselves into! If you don't know what I'm talking about, and consider yourself a fan of Fantasy in any form, do yourself a favor and pick up the entire library of Lynn Flewelling. She only has seven books out thus far, all mass-market paperback and very easy to find. She's unlike any author out there, with a true gift for characterization and a genuine affection and appreciation for her fans. I'm gonna actually head out and suck down a little more of her work. Laters!
