(no subject)
I've been here for a week now and it's not so bad, except for the heat. I'm not one for hot weather, my favorite is mid 60s to 70s. San Angelo is a pretty nice town. I say town but it's a little bigger than St. Joseph, MO. Unfortunately with as big as it is there is not a whole lot to do here. There is a movie theater and a Triple A baseball team. We plan at some point to go see a game.
It's been good to spend time with Jon however little it is. He leaves about 4:45 in morning and gets home around 6:30 in the evening during the week. Sometimes he gets home later if they are in trouble, and as you know if one does something stupid they all take the punishment for it, or he needs to go to study hall. But he does get the weekends off, again as long as nobody does anything stupid. Yesterday he had to be in formation at 6am, because some of the people in his platoon are idiots.
This next week looks to be long one for him, they have a lot to do and next week is war week, but he thinks they may get down early on Friday because the drill sargents will not be around (crosses fingers). He has one more week of phase I, then it's onto something different. His training will be on a shift. Really early in the morning to about 3pm or around noon to 11pm.
I've managed to get a lot done in the last week. Like everything but the spare bedroom being unpacked. I plan on tackling that room starting tomorrow. And at some point I will go look for a part time job, but I'm waiting to see what shift Jon gets. Not that it will matter, I only plan on working four to six hours a day. I just need to make our spending money. I will worry about finding a more enjoyable job after the next move; we should be there longer. I hope I can find something that's not too unbarrable, I not a huge fan of retail, but that's kinda what I'm stuck with at this point. Oh, well I'll deal.
