Sumary: Kyung, a Lious descendant is fighting his life to save humanity. Minhyuk, a Klious descendant is a wreck after seeing his family wiped out. Will they find comfort in each other presences?
Being the last generation of mankind isn’t easy, not to mention Kyung isn’t that young anymore to have the energy to run around the rough dusty landscape. He needs to find a shelter, to refill back his electron cannon or he’ll be as good as gone when the meter gauge goes down to zero.
The future is like his ancestor has dreamed of except there’s a flaw. While blindly chasing after the lust of progress and advancement, the ‘mad’ scientist had released a batch of small nano micro to dispose of life threatening monsters earth provided. It’s a genius idea. Or so they thought.
There’s a loud bang, an indication that one of the eater’s had destroyed a large abandon skyscraper which also means it’s hot trailing a hunter. Weird huh. A hunter being hunted when it supposed to be the other way around but that’s exactly what’s happening to him right now. “Gotta find shelter. Shit, where’s the place most suitable.”
Up ahead there’s seems to be a small opening and using his radius tracking gear, he knows it’s a safe spot and immediately slides through the small opening, covering it and with a bit of lious left, he shield off the place to be undetected from deadly eaters.
“Finally, safe.” He gasp, breathless and tilting his head back into the dark dusty steel wall. Hours of running with carrying a bunch of heavy armor is a tiring task, not to mention the lack of food.
“Oh really?” And Kyung heart immediately drops, the sudden wave of relief is washed away quick by a sense of panic as a metallic tip of a gun placed directly to his temple. No matter how much Kyung crank his eyes he can’t see the figure beside him.
“I’m not an eater. I’m one of the last descended of Lious User family.” Kyung tried to kept his voice from wavering. He can’t die, not now.
That seem to take the offender by surprise since the grip of the gun hesitate a bit.
“But… I thought the Lious family were all used for research? The heir died at birth.”
Kyung chest tighten. The pain flash of his family members submerged in cylinder liquid filed tubes haven’t left his memory.
“If you just put away the gun and promised not to inflict danger upon me, then maybe we can work this out.” It was stupid, to be so cooperative with the enemy. But Kyung has no choice. The likes of him are rare to find and when he does he’s not gonna let it slip away. He knows the person behind the gun is also a human, he hopes.
“I don’t trust you.”
Hah, Kyung wanted to laugh. There’s no such thing as trust in this ark of time.
“Neither does me. But its not like we both got a choice.”
There was a deafening silence and what felt like an eternity before the gun was removed from his temple. Sweat was starting to break out from the hunter skin.
“Did you put a barrier around this place? Lious possess magical power if I’m not wrong.”
“You’re right, I did. But it’s not gonna last. My powers aren’t strong, given how long I was running.” Kyung wanted to laugh, but his throat felt dry. He needs to refill his cannon, yeah, that’s why he was searching for a shelter.
With every ounce of energy he had, Kyung shifted the heavy steampunk cannon to his lap, shoving his hand into the key hole of the heavy armor until the octagon thick shaped bracelet click with the key hole, tightening everything into place. An illumining glow of purple light is produced and no matter how many times Kyung does this, he’s not used. Drains his energy every time.
“You’re a hunter too…”
Kyung tilts his head to where stood the voice. The figure had moved forward and despite the darkness and vague shine of moonlight, Kyung could see the guy’s face, spiked black hair, slightly messy like all of them. From further inspection on the guy face, he will admit that the other was really attractive. Other than a black mark etch vertical from his left side of the face, forehead to cheek.
“It would make me more at ease if we did some introduction.” Kyung give a light-hearted chuckle. “I’m Kyung, a hunter.”
“Minhyuk, but I usually go by B-Bomb.”
Minhyuk is a weird fellow, not that Kyung is saying he’s anything normal but the other male is quiet and passive and the guy pulled up his hood to cover his head, Kyung could see that the other wrist was the same as his.
“So where’s your gun? I bet you do some hard punching on the eaters too, right?”
Minhyuk eyes shifted a little, before he glance at Kyung’s cannon. He place his palm on the armlet on his wrist, rubbing slightly.
“I’m a blade user. I don’t really fight the eaters.”
“Eh? Why not. You should! We need to get rid all, every single one of them.”
“Do you believe in mankind? Hope, they called it. Do you believe we’ll able to restore mankind again? I think every single people is dead except us. If not dead then they’re turn into eaters. We’re just better off dead, Kyung.”
Hearing this stun Kyung a bit. What the heck is going in Minhyuk head. What’s more, what the heck happened to the guy. He’s a wreck.
“I don’t really get what you’re trying to say. Are you saying I should get myself eaten and let my life wasted like a dry sand on this land?!” Kyung’s not one to get mad, or whatever the emotion. He’s not really good at the social side.
Minhyuk eyes turn blanked, the corner of his mouth twitch. Probably a gesture of annoyed for the boy in front of him.
“Why are you so cheerful? I don’t understand you. Your family is all dead and its obvious, we’re fighting a losing battle here.”
Kyung bite his lips, complementing his answers. He want’s Minhyuk to be on his side, he gotta to have him. He let out a soft breath, brain thinking uses a lot of energy.
“Because I know. I know that I could win this. I’m not goingto let my clan die in vain alright!?” A light sob broke out of him. He didn’t even realize that he had been tearing up and its embarrassing to be crying in front of a stranger but Kyung cares for his family.
“Lious has special powers and… and I know I can try, maybe win this battle. B-But I can’t do it alone..”
Kyung felt silent, not daring to glance at Minhyuk for he’s afraid how the other might look at him as. He can’t stay here, it’s making him weak on the knees and uselessly fighting an argument. Taking a deep breath, Kyung got up on his feet.
“Nevermind. I’m going to go now. Good bye.”
Just as Kyung was about to leave, wrist still locked in his gun, Minhyuk hand sprung up to a tight grip around his other wrist, sending a blinding electrocuting jolt through him.
“Wait. Wait. Just wait alright.”
“I can’t wait Minhyuk! I don’t have time.”
“I know! But.. please, Kyung.”
With a sigh, Kyung sit back down on the dusty concrete floors. He felt Minhyuk moves closer to him and from this distance, he could see him close. Its amazing how familiar and ease it was for the two hunters to be on real name basis.
Minhyuk pushed back the hood of his hoodie, letting the brief moonlight shine of him. The mark on the other face seems to be glowing, now that he realized, everything seems to be glowing and it seems to come from both of Kyung wrist, even the one that still being grip around Minhyuk hand.
“You felt it, right?” Minhyuk ask, voice deep stirring something in him.
He lift up Kyung wrist in his hand when he saw that Kyung wasn’t really understanding him. When the smaller hunter eyes met with the glowing shimmer, he gives a nod to the other.
Now everything makes sense to Minhyuk. The electrifying spark, the need to be around the other no matter what. He needs to accept this, so with a soft sigh he explain to Kyung.
“I’m going to help you fight those eaters.” Kyung face was literally in glee hearing that. “But.”
“But?”
“But this is only because I’m tied to you.”
“Huh? What do you mean you’re tied to me? We just met!”
“Calm down, gosh. If you didn’t noticed, I’m from the Klious bloodline and our bloodline is kinda like tied together. Each one of your family members has at least a Klious serving them.” Minhyuk could see the shock on Kyung face, how the younger was trying to cope with all this new information. Kyung was separated from young, he didn’t learn all of this.
“It’s like this is fate. Funny, I don’t even feel like fighting against this. Being around you makes me feel.. powerful. Like you gave me a strength and a need to protected something which is obviously you right now.” Minhyuk chuckle softly, loosing his grip on the other wrist, seeing something flashes in Kyung’s brown orbs.
“D-Don’t let go. Minhyuk.” There was desperation and longing in Kyung eyes, because for the first time Kyung felt like home. His arm reach out and instead of the hands he was hoping to grasp, the palm of his hand caress the glowing mark on the other face and the spark is just amazing. Its like energy he was addicted to.
“How… How did you know all this? This instinct...”
Minhyuk gaze soften for the first time since they met as he place his own hand on top of Kyung’s caressing hand. Their hands emitting heat with each other.
“I was there when you family was taken away by the scientist. Our loyalty are strong and we know what’s going to happen to them if we let them being taken away. As a result, my family was killed in front of my eyes. I manage to escape but I c-couldn’t get it out of my head. It’s h-horrible, Kyung.”
Minhyuk voice break and he tears up. That’s why he’s such a wreck, an asshole to the other when they met. Kyung watch those tears feel, touching his fingertips. His chest tighten, this is familiar. It’s the kind of feeling he gets when he remembers his clan in those awful tubes.
It make sense, everything seems to be fitting into place. And all Kyung could say was “I know.” As the Lious wipe the tears away from the Klious. Its like they formed a bond, and its strong. Kyung could feel it.
Just then there was a loud bang and Kyung cried out in pain as he jerks away from the other, Minhyuk face immediately tensed and worried.
“S-Shit, the e-eaters.” He gasp, “They’re here! They’re trying to break the barrier.”
“Put it down, we’re going to fight it. I’ll cover you.”
The pain was insane Kyung didn’t manage to think twice as he shuts the barrier away and suddenly the front of their hiding being ripped away by a large monster like creature. Kyung barely have time to focus when Minhyuk stood between him and it, his wrist emitting a blue glow before a long sharp blade, suited for a hunter, zap from it and easily slice the monster head, body, everything off, leaving Kyung gaping at the sight.
“Hurry, we need to move.” Minhyuk reaches his hand out to him and it took a nano second for Kyung brain to work again, detaching his wrist from his cannon as he grab hold of Minhyuk’s hand and at that moment, both of their bracelet locked with each other and Kyung could moan because there was this rush of pleasure, it felt so good.
Minhyuk could feel it too because there was a light grunt of surprise from the other before his face relaxes of pure bliss and he smiles to him, squeezing Kyung’s small hand as he hoist the other up beside him.
“Let’s kick the eater’s butt and build mankind again.”
“Wait, are you asking me out?”
“What else, because there’s only us, right?” Minhyuk grins and it makes him looks so attractive and Kyung face flushes to a red colour, because he can’t believe Minhyuk is seriously asking him out, heck, this is for life long.
“You'll be bearing the babies, Kyung" Minhyuk said with a playful smile, and Kyung finds himself at awe how they could be so calm despite the lack of time.
"We're planning that already?" Kyung said jokingly, receiving a chaste kiss on his lips.
"Of course. I promise I’ll be there by your side always.” Minhyuk said, there's a line of hope every since he found Kyung again and he'll never leave him, ever.
