I hate writing titles

I had the best weekend! When I said that to my friend Cathy she paused and asked me if I was being sarcastic. I suppose that is my more normal mode. ^_^

Friday after school I went to eat with EJ. We were planning to watch a movie with Delilah, but she ended up delayed at some banquet hosted by her son's private school. So we went to see Gnomio and Juliet. Instead we saw Hope and Monica! Hope was there to see a movie with her friends. We talked to Monica for a minute then went inside. Our movie was not showing at the time posted on the website so we thought we'd hang out with Monica.

When I called Monica, Hope answered. She had Monica's phone. Hope explained that the PG 13 movie she was there to see was ACTUALLY rated R. She wanted me to get her into the movie. Monica was out of reach because she didn't have her cell phone. I drove back to the theater and bought tickets. I walked Hope and her friends (we called the friend's Mom to get permission.) into the theater and went home.

It was so nice being able to play hero. Monica means so much to me and it makes me sad I'm not a bigger part of her daughter's life. Its nice to get to do things for her, like take her to a carnival or sneak her into a rated R movie to meet some boys from school. I wonder if Monica knew about the boys?

I spent the rest of the evening watching TV with EJ and getting ready for the UIL tournament the next morning. The tournament was great. We went to the one no one was going to, so most of our kids came back with trophies. (Less competition!) I was really sad about one boy who didn't get anything for my events. He seemed so down on himself. Hopefully it will make him push harder next time.

When I got home from the tournament, my family was out at the soccer field watching Tristan's game. I went to join them. My grandparents had their poodles there. Mom was walking Abby. Tristan was running like a mad thing all over the field. I yelled at him to save it for the game. That's when I found out the other team hadn't shown. They forfeit and we went to watch RED. My uncle Scott had flown in for the weekend, and we had a nice time sharing the movie with him.

(If you haven't watched RED: Retired Extremely Dangerous you should. They buy it cause its awesome.)

Mom and I took Scott to eat Chinese, then we met David, Sara and Ben at the park. Grandmother, Grandpa, and Scott showed up too and we all talked and took turns chasing Ben.

After the park we went back to Grandma's house and played joker. David and Grandpa faced off against Scott and me. We beat the pants off them three times in a row. hehehe (Ok, so it was close each time whatever.)

Sunday Mrs. Vaughn went to church with us and had breakfast after. It was lovely. The sermon really spoke to her and the songs were a blast. ^_^

After breakfast EJ put on How I Met Your Mother and Bamboo Blade. I cleaned my room and my car. I did four loads of laundry and I can now walk to the back of my closet! I feel so much better being able to MOVE in my room.

We had dinner with David and Sara, and again met everyone at the park. We took a walk as a family all thirteen of us if you include the three dogs, which when they are all underfoot its hard to exclude them.

It was such a relaxing weekend. I had such a good time being with my family.

In fact, at dinner David gave me back an annotated copy of a story I wrote. He put numbers next to every line and put comments on the back. I'm going to rewrite the story using his comments. It was one of the most useful edits I've ever gotten. Probably because he more than anyone on the planet could care less about hurting my feelings. ^_^ It really made me feel close to him and loved. It was wonderful.

Now I just need to finish my thesis, figure out what is wrong with my mom, find a new job and finish out the school year. (Oh yeah, I might get fired. Yay budget cuts!)
