:: Five Point Star Ensemble Concert Thursday 13 Sept - Edinburgh

I have been asked to help publicise this unusual gig of some socio-political and cultural interest.

This is a musical event and patronising it does not imply in any way that you subscribe to any of the belief systems that much of this inspirational music was based on. Enough to say that music and the arts are powerful mediums and ones that are more likely to cause deep and powerful emotions whichever side of the erm, old 'iron curtain' and historical period they may have originated from. Times have moved on and these tunes can now be enjoyed for the musical pleasure they bring.

Of course if you do know any veterans of the Spanish Civil War or any former members of the International Brigade or have been acquainted with Anthony Blunt and his mates in various offices of State in the past, do give them the nod and tell them to pop along, after all, 'There are powers at work in this country which we have no knowledge about...' as someone once said!

The venue has circulated a rumour of a free buffet if enough people come!
