Illegal Turn
I hate it when a friend you care for changes. They develop a personality you can't abide. They go from friend to acquaintance. An acquaintanceyou wouldn't even want to pursue a relationship with.
The worst is that you don't know why!
Maybe other people in their life is making them angry and they see you as a safe outlet. But you're not a safe outlet because that would entail that you wouldn't get hurt. But as a friend, you DO get hurt, and you question the relationship because it makes you wonder if this 'friend' even values your friendship at all.
And even if you did know why, you wonder if you'd stick around. You aren't a masochist in the least, so would you stick around and suffer their treatment.
And are you being a bad friend if you don't? Because my answer's 'No', I'm not sticking around. I'll give it a break, maybe come back later and see if things are better. But I refuse to be punished if I'm not guilty.
