Dear Nia
I cannot understand what led your stepfather, step-uncle and his partner to treat you so horribly. Even thinking about the pain and fear you must have gone to brings tears to my eyes. You should have had a great life, you should never have known terror or hurt. Although I never knew you, you take a little bit of my heart with you in your travels in the next world.
Much aroha, Nia
Nikki
Dear Wiremu Curtis, Michael Curtis, Oriwa Kemp and Michael Pearson.
You are all between 17 and 21. You should be on the cusp of adulthood, planning what to do with your life. You should not be terrorising a three year old girl. When I think of what you have done, a terrible sickness spreads through me. How was Nia supposed to defend herself against you? You were supposed to take care of her, not hang her from a clothesline, bathe her in ice or put her in the clothes dryer. Be assured as you stand in that court room that no one in New Zealand will want you to walk out. We crave your incarceration, and some your destruction. You have destroyed a little girl. Did her screams and crying make you feel better?
Karma is after you.
