Byakuya arrived early - as was his wont and habit; he had little to occupy him over the holiday break period. He certainly wasn't going to visit family or any such nonsense - but he used his time to continue the search that had dominated his thoughts for some years now.
His limited resources would only go so far - but he would do his best with what was at hand. He couldn't give up - for her, he had to keep trying.
It was why he'd gone all the way to France - to England - and now, here, following a trail that was barely a trail; it was like trying to follow a ghost.
He ascended to the second floor, finding a spot near a broad window overlooking part of the campus below; the library was practically deserted, so they wouldn't be disturbing anyone if they spoke above a whisper.
