Well. So I definitely wrote my thesis prospectus (ie. "What I Want To Spend the Next Three Months Obsessing Over") in about 20 minutes. Oh I am so very badass. (Except not, because it's history major badassery, which shouldn't count at all.) I'm going to wax poetic about fallout shelters and how to survive atomic bombs. Awesome.

This is what I'm learning:

As long as we're telling the truth, what are my chances of coming through an atomic bombing? What are the odds?

Excellent. One atomic bomb dropped on New York City would probably kill at most 1 in 100 people there.

Also, in the index, is: Cancer from atomic rays, rumor of, 16

FANTASTIC.

Anyway, I'm arguing that the general public wasn't as idiotic as the government made them out to be, for starters. And going for broke about fallout shelters. Weewahooey. Kansas in a week - yikes!!

OTHER than that:

I finally - ok, on Saturday - saw Serenity. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I was absolutely astounded, amazed, and loved it. I'm also still recovering - wow. Wow.

LIfe is going well too. Getting farther in socks - finally! - and have a few more knitting projects so I can knit my way through Sigma dues. Need to start spinning again. Need to get my bike working. Need to keep knitting! Car needs washing. Peace Corps application much? F'real.

We're reading Madame Bovary in French and MY GOD IT IS FUCKING FANTASTIC. I know people always say that, but oh my sweet goodness, it's great.

But, really...life is good. Beautiful weather, good friends, awesome classes, lots of laughs. Yay. Whatta senior year, I tell ya.

friends, cavorting, history, school, gettysburg, craziness
