So yeah…

Thought I’d write up an update post. Things are going ok for me... mostly good with a side of bad. We'll see after tonight what my thoughts are. I have a few more “fruity malt beverages” cold in the ‘fridge - if needed.

TDK situation is in a holding pattern. Quarterly taxes are coming down to the wire. Baseball season is coming to a close for 2006. I have a car-pooler 2 days a week. It’s raining again - hard.

TDK situation - If I go tonight, I will not be going alone. I did not go on Tuesday night since felixander worked late & the “lydaalexander”s were home sick. I was not about to go alone that night, and I still feel that way today. It's very rare that I will get that upset about a comment, but my instructor really got to me last Tuesday night... and I have been on edge about going ever since that night...

Quarterly Taxes - so, even though I am no longer responsible for this task, I have been asked to assist as we are coming down to the wire. I have been taunted with overtime if I were to come in tomorrow (s/b my 9-80 day off)… and I said that I would if needed as well as reschedule my vacation day I had planned for Monday. It’s cool.

Baseball - I can't believe that it's the World Series.. We were just at the pre-season game! That was the last game I was at. This is the 1st season since the new stadium opened that I have not attended a regular season game. So who am I rooting for? The Tigers. Why? They knocked out the Yankees. And I am not a St. Louis fan.

Car-pooling - lydaalexander rides with me on Mondays & Wednesdays these days. I drive into downtown where I work. Then she hopes the Metro LightRail to Rice University where she is a grad-student. She returns to downtown in the evening and we commute back to Pearland. It’s a perfect arrangement since I don’t really have any extra driving to do and my office building is right on the LightRail.

The rain - Houston is having lots of rain today. Not as much as last Monday, however… that was a fun day. My neighborhood was somewhat under water. Even @ 11:15 that night I still drove thru water (it doesn't have to be deep for me to consider it to be high - I drive a Miata) getting into my driveway. Felixander was asleep already, as I'd told him not to wait up. There was a very distinct possibility that I'd be staying over @ my friends’ for the night. You are wondering why I was there in the first place instead of home... Well, that is an interesting & adventurous story. You see, I took Monday as a vacation day - not that it mattered since I would not have been able to get to work that day anyway. So, I had plans to help dye lydaalexander’s hair black, and thus was stranded. The rest of the story goes like this: her hubbie had a rental car that day that needed to be returned @ Hobby airport, so she & I adventured thru a not-so-good part of town that was flooded in order to pick up her hubby after dark. Good thing they have a Ford Expedition that sits up pretty high... There were spots of water that were almost too deep for the truck. After we got home (their house) I knew that I could not get home, so I stayed and watched Tank Girl.
