ok - so I decided to post more today. this post will cover all the things that I left out of yesterday's post...
MRI was taken this morning... should have the results Monday...
Felixander picked up a new PS2 game a few weeks ago and has been working his way up the "Blacklist" on Need for Speed: Most Wanted. I have found myself watching him play and enjoying just that. There are a couple of the cars that he lets me control all the visual effects (paint, vinal decorations, body kits, spoilers, & wheels) - one of which is the Mazda RX-8.
Otherwise, we seem to have taken a break from electronic games. That's right, I thinks it been close to 2 months since we last played WoW. Hard to believe, but true nonetheless.
Felixander is going to play in the Warhammer Fantasy league at the local Game store. I have choosen to be an observer on this one. Sorry, but I just don't feel like bringing out the Vampire Counts' Army... also, I did rather not relearn the rules right before the new edition of the rulebook is released. And maybe I am not totally fond of the couple in charge of this league... for some reason they just irritate me too dang easily...I can't put my finger on it.
what else?? Ahh work... Work is getting better, I think. The payroll department is finally back to full staff - well, sort of. We filled the 2 open positions, and I have been able to transition from payroll tax to payroll accounting recently, but we lost our administrative assistant.
That had to do with the HR re-org that's taking place. You see, the VP of HR decided to create a "call center" set-up, and so the couple of administrative assistants within HR were pulled into the "call center" staff as well as the entire data management team. I think that if we can make it past the innitial troubles & complications that are certain to arise, this "call center" idea might work out to be a good thing. One of the main purposes behind the creation of this "call center" is to track & log all incoming calls for HR issues, which is something that we currently do not have in place. THis will allow for accurate data as to the amount of calls / issues that are handled within HR, and provide future targets for improvement. In the short-term, things are going to continue to be very INTERESTING.
We are looking to take a trip to Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with Felixander's mom this year. This will be the first time that we will have spent a major holiday (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) with his side of the family. We usually do the major holidays with my family as we are all in the Houston area. Unfortunately being first in Cash Management and now in Pyaroll, it has been difficult to plan to be out of town around the holidays. But this year, I lucked out and was able to get my vacation request on the calander the 2nd quickest. One of my co-workers was able to schedule to have the week of Thanksgiving off 1st, but I realized that was my 9/80 week, so I have that WEdnesday off and planned to take the week after off as well. Once that was OK-ed my my manager, I called Felixander hinting that we should think about going to Ohio. He agreed that was a most excelent idea. Plans are in the works.
other than that, I am waiting for the start of Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica on SciFi. I love that show! for any Xena fans reading this who have not heard this news: Lucy Lawless will be more than just a guest star this season. She will be reprising her character as a regular for a 10-episode stroy arc. This should be good!
Other LL news: she is the voice of Goldmoon the upcoming Dragonlance films:
http://www.dragonlance-movie.com/ we have finally started to paint the other side of the hallway at the top of the stairs.. one side's been painted for a while now, but we never got the other side started... and our white-ish cat is now streeked red.
