But yes. ARG!!
I'm with you on the Scott never picking Emma thing. It's disgusting, really. She's manipulative and yes, let's start our relationship off on a lie! I'll pretend to be your wife, and give you therapy. So, so stupid. Okay, so the writers wanted Jean and Scott to be more "believeable." WTCrap, yo. Give them a few issues but let them work it out, damn.
Ugh. I'm discusted with the whole thing and have given up the comics about 2 years ago. No way will I give Marvel another cent until they bring back Jean.
Emma? Needs to die a horrible, horrible death. Or at least get booted off onto another team or something. Who's the Sacred Cash Cow now, darling?! She and Wolverine need to get together with the way they're both pushed down our throats.
Maddie, I honestly didn't like for a long while. I still kinda don't, though I feel bad for her, really. It wasn't her fault Sinister screwed everything up and made her. That in itself was a stupid move on Marvel's part, I think, since she was really a victim to begin with.
But Scott and Jean? Still my OTP. Luffs them. And hear hear, Scott wouldn't be doing this if Jean were around. But she did "push" him (more crap), so who knows what'll happen if she returns!

IT IS GROSS. I want to slap him in the face.
They wanted them be more unbelievable, but everyone was OCC. Scott would never cheat on Jean. His personality and devotion just won't allow it. I always believed their relationship was believable. SOME COUPLE ACTUALLY DO MAKE IT! Their relationship had their ups and downs. Whatever, they just wanted to break them up for a way to shock readers and get more readers.
I read Uncanny 509 because Maddie was in it. and they totally fucked over her as all. I'll start buying X-men when everyone is back to their canon personalities.
I miss the old Emma and Wolverine. Where Wolverine was popular but he wasn't fucking in everything and he was actually was a human being--er mutant and he cared and he was heartbroken. I miss Jubilee and Wolverine days, really. and Emma was cold but growing as a person in GENX. but everything from 2001--2002 and beyond have sucked so badly.
I love Maddie. It actually took me a while to like Jean. *Snort* I think they fucked her over in the Inferno story and that shit shouldn't have ended like that. and even in the 90s, they still treated her like a monster sometimes. In Cable #44, she said she hated the mutants and wanted to kill them all. LIKE WHAT EVEN? she was possessed and upset in Inferno and pretty much stopped that shit later on. They just wanted Cable's decision to pick Scott and Jean over her more easier. In X-man, she was awesome. Except the two incest kisses from Nate Grey and Maddie. Also, I love that woman that can punch Scott in the face and doesn't take his shit (most of the time).
I did not believe that crap that Jean pushed into Emma. Sure, she would want him to move on and shit, but NO WAY IN HELL WOULD SHE PICK EMMA. or think Emma is a good influence on Scott.
Jean/Scott were just awesome. I miss them so much.

Anyway. My butt hurts.
But yes. Back to more pressing issues.
Yes, SOME DO MAKE IT! Alas, not our Jeannie and Slim. I don't get why Morrison punked it all anyway. Sure, they wanted drama!1!!11LOLLERCAKEZ!@11 but it could've been done in a better way. Ugh. I'm just disgusted with the whole thing, really.
I've never read any Gen X, but it sounds from things I have read that Emma actually was a pretty good fleshed out villainy character there, and some say her relationship with Sean (Banshee) was pretty good, if not for their constant bickering. I think that's what Emma needs anyway--someone who she can fight almost hostialy (sp? cuz I'm lazy) with, not someone who clams up at everything she says and does.
Marvel was just trying to justify Scott going back to Jean by having Maddie be so screwed up. I'm a Jean!fan to the core, but in recent years have some bit of sympathy for Maddie, simply because it sucks to be married to someone and have a kid, and then have that guy leave you for his now undead wife. Hahaha, yeah, the implied incest. That.. was weird. What the crap were the writers thinking?? That it'd be okay for Nathan to kiss his kind-of Mom?? Ecch. Hopefully that won't be brought up ever again, what with a possible Maddie return in the comics now (that's her in Uncanny or summat, right? The Red Queen?)
Ugh, I know. I FEEL YOUR PAIN! ;0; Jean picking Emma would be like Scott picking hepatitis. Or at the very least, picking Logan to get it on with Jean while he can hear every word. Never in a million years!!

Redd and Slim should have made it, they are epic and I can't think of Jean without Scott and etc. Morrison is just an idiot. THERE WAS DRAMA. SCOTT GOT MIND FUCKED BY APOCALYPSE. Scott should be messed up from that. But no way in hell would Scott question their love. He only has one solid thing in his life and that is his love for Jean. His love for Jean can kill his faith in the x-men and the dream at times. BECAUSE IT IS THAT POWERFUL.
from what I remember, she wasn't villain but she was no goody-goody. but she did what she wanted and she made bad decision but she was reforming. Yeah, Sean and her were in constant bickering on how to raise the kids, what's for breakfast and etc. But Emma respected Sean (I don't get that from Scott/Emma) and loved fighting with him. I always wanted those two together. Yeah, I agree. She needs someone to fight back. Argue, to stand up for what he believes in. But This Scott just goes with Emma--which makes me think BRAINWASH.
Yeah, it was retarded and Maddie deserves better. Yeah it does and Maddie will never get over losing her kid and Scott. I think she is over Scott, but not over his actions. but I think today, she would not go after the x-men or anything (because the x-men were her friends--when Scott left her and she was under attack by Minster Sinister, Storm was running the x-men, they took care of her. PLUS she had chances before to take them out) I don't know what they were thinking. But they kissed the first time, they didn't know who each other really were. but I love Nate and Maddie's relationship. Two scared, lonely clones together having adventures. I loved the idea. I don't think it will--since Nate Grey sacrificed himself at the end of his solo (I believe). I do hope that if he does ever come back, he will see Maddie again. They have too much history. The Red Queen was a evil Jean from an AU. Maddie is in Uncanny X-men right now but I like to pretend it is not her since they are fucking her over. In Cable #44, she said she hated Mutants but now she is in a group called Sisterhood of mutants. Both things she should not be in. She shouldn't hate mutants since she is one kinda and her son is one too. but if she does, why is she in a group called that?
AGREED. NEVER EVER.

SO TRUE. Scooter and Jean = teh win. Epic, a good word for it. I just don't get why the writers and editors *coughJOEQcough* couldn't let them be happy, at least working THROUGH problems. Because we ALL KNOW the answer to a disagreement with your spouse--whom you've loved since you were, what, 8--is to get a divorce.
Oh, snap, YES--THE WHOLE APOCALYPSE THING. Scott came out so messed up, but he KNEW he had Jean to rely on. And the crap about him not thinking he could share his "dark" thoughts with her, that he'd taint her or some crap, is BS. Hello, Dark Phoenix, anyone? Jean would be the ONLY one who would truly understand those dark thoughts, and instead of having Scott realize and know this (he's pretty flipping analytical--he would so make the connection!), they toss in the bleach-blonde hussie to "spice things up."
I am thoroughly unimpressed.
Currently in the comics aren't they having Scott "keep things" from Emma? I could be wrong.. though this could be their way of livening up their relationship, just like they did with Jean. Whatever, as long as Scott wakes the crap up and stops being stupid by latching onto Emma, I'm good. WORD on the brainwash possibility.
Yeah, I don't see them ever bringing up the odd relationship between the two, simply because readers wouldn't be very receptive. And if they do bring it up, it'll be retconned. Nathan will have been a robot and Maddie was really Skrull who came back to change HISTORYYYEYEEEE!!1!1!!!OENe!!!1! Or something stupid like that.
..that's the dumbest thing I've heard. About Maddie being in the Sisterhood of Mutants, esp. if she hates them?? Marvel's pretty off with the decisions they're making. Whatever happened to continuity, people?! Whatever happened to writing that didn't suck?! Whatever happened to houndmarked Rachel, alive Jean, and a not-OOC Scott?! It's madness, I say! Madness.
Part of me wishes Jean'll just come back, collect her "pieces," (especially from Rachel, the Cuckoos, whoever) and just be done with it. I can deal with her separating from the Phoenix for a while, but I think she *is* Phoenix, or at least the central avatar for it. But anyway, ugh.
This whole thing is exhausting. I need a nap.
