Oh I know. Maddie is the most screwed over character in X-Men I think. Husband walks out on her for the woman she's cloned from. They turn her evil so Scott and Jean can be together again. They make her seem evil by having her try to kill her son. When she dies, Jean gets her memories, and Jean gets to raise her son. That said I still seethe at Scott.
Well, if it's any consolation, the cop-out at the sisterhood storyline is Red Queen is a ghost or the essence of Maddie's magic-using Goblin Queen persona, and not supposed to be Maddie herself. or so Matt Fraction claims in a subsequent interview. I still think it's STUPID though.
I do want Maddie, Cable and Hope in their own adventures! lol, but it's my pipe dream. I know Cable thinks of Jean as his mom, but I'd like to think he can accept Maddie as well. At the end of the Blood Brothers storyline I think the 2 had begun some sort of reconciliation - though of course they never fleshed it out. That line where Maddie asks Cable that he knew what she was going to do and Cable goes something like "I saw it in your eyes" and I just went YES!!!!! lol. I guess I just want Maddie to have her kid back you know? It's not fair how she never got to raise him, so I just want her to at least now get along with him and have him accept her. But I know, it'll never happen. I wouldn't object to a Nate & Maddie book though, they were also awesome together.
After #511 I've sworn off UXM right now actually. I was just utterly disgusted with it that I refuse to touch the book for the next few years. lol.
