I'm not sure diversity is always a good thing...
From an email I just received:
"This year, our conductor, ... , has chosen an exciting and diverse program ..."
including music by Bach, Whitacre, Sinatra, and the Beatles.
"We are very excited about this concert, and sincerely hope you will attend."
Well, it's certainly diverse, but I'm not so sure about exciting. It sounds like the result will be the musical equivalent of indigestion. Some of the program sounds interesting, but all together??? I think I'll pass on this concert.
