Personal
Basically, I'm an emotional person(for better or worse) and I think that comes out in my icons to some degree since I tend to gravitate towards caps that have a lot of emotion showing almost as often as caps I find "pretty". And I try (even if I don't always succeed) to show that mood/feeling in the icon.
