WOW! The wild card races in both the Americna and National Leagues came down to the last games of the season.
I guess the Braves choked and the Cardinals won, so the Cardinals will play the Phillies and the Brewers will play the Diamondbacks. The NLCS will likely be the Brewers and the Phillies although since the Cardinals had to go on a hot streak to get into the playoffs, their momentum may be enough to get them past the Phillies. We will see.
As for the Americna League. WOW! Just WOW! The Rays and the Red Sox were tied. Tonight, it started out witht he Reds ahead of the O's and the Rays losing7-0 against the Yankees. Then the Red Sox blow it in the 9th and choke against the O's, and what do you know, the Rays come back form being down by a touchdown to winning with a walk off homerun by Evan Longoria in the 12th inning! You couldn't have written a better script for this!
It will probably be the Yankees and the Rays in the American League CHampionship Series.
I would like to see a Rays-Brewers world series so that it is two underdog small market teams instead of the usual Yankees-Phillies or whatever.
The Marlins look like they are going to hire Ozzie Guillen as their Manager. It seems like a bold move and I am glad that they brought in someone who has a history of winning and credibility. However, considering Guillen's history of being outspken, I can't imagine that management will appreciate it when Ozzie Guillen eventually says something controversial or critical of the team. How many people have been fired or demoted in the Marlins because they criticized something about the team or ownership?
