about a week ago i found out that i won an honorarium for filmmaking from the Princess grace of monaco foundation. crazy. they only give away 4 or 5 awards a year and i got $2000!!! i'm totally going to buy a
G5. so that was kickass, and then to celebrate, i went to a new years eve party at some of my buddies' house. i got totally wasted and danced and people were wrestling and making out and i ended up talking to this guy that turned out to be the guitar player in OXES!!! i was all starstruck, i was like 'i looooove your band!' and he was really nice and now we're buddies (sort of). and then the singer from These arms are snakes and the drummer from blood brothers showed up because the more than music fest was cancelled and the TAAS dude (who i had met the other day briefly in my office- they're clients, heh heh) was like "DUDE TESS!! WHATS UP!!" and throws a can of rolling rock my way. i totally didn't recognize him for a while and was like 'who the fuck is this dude' but then i figured it out and we three power chilled and i schmoozed party style and got hopper points for befriending band dudes. and they were all 'dude!! next time we come to chicago we're staying at tess' loft cos TESS KNOWS HOW TO PARTY!! WOOOOOO!!" and i was like 'yeah!'.
it was cool. we were all way too drunk to drive home (lex and math took turns yakking in the kitchen sink) so we took the el and then a bus home which took a million hours. the sun was rising when we got back and we were still drunk and it was crazy. hungover, the next day me and lex and
victor saw TERMINATOR 3 which was cool and badass. we all watched Adaptation after that which was also good. the next day Kerby formally of the homostead came over and we all chilled and went to our favorite neighborhood bar Skylark that afternoon and played cards and got drunk at 5pm or so. and then fell asleep. the next week was ok...
texas (loft upstairs) had a cool screen printing poster show with bands and djing. and the kids from montreal touring with their prints
