i haven't updated in a while. internet access has been shady on my computer. my wireless card on my computer hasn't been working.
recent news:
i finished my class. it was totally rad and i wouldn't have been able to learn any of that shit anywhere else. i built all these different oscillators and soldered ciruit boards and made distortion pedals and amplifiers and learned to read and write schematics. but after 3 weeks of 9-5 classes mon-fri i'm FUCKING BROKE. i was working a little during the time, stopping in the office to catch up on stuff, but i didn't make any money at all for a whole three weeks. now i'm back at the office alot being a publicist professional. doing alot of stuff for the gossip and the paws across america tour mostly. today i got a raise and am moving up in my resposibilities. i had to spend all day working on a pitch for the paws tour (tigerbeat stuff ie. KID606 et al.[read: electronic]). it's not totally my bag musically so it was hard to research and sound well informed ("DJ Rupture's new lineup is melodic IDM meets neo-dub"). tomorrow i start calling, yes CALLING up editors and writers from dailys and CMJ, rolling stone, etc. scary. "hi ______ this is tess from hopper pr. did i catch you at bad time? i'm calling about the paws tour. any plans for coverage? can i send you a kit or set up an interview? how about guest list?" etc.
sorry to ramble on about work. i know it must be boring.
in other news (somewhat work related) i saw the gossip. it was fun. i got guestlist and got to schmooze with them. there's some shows i've got coming up for work that are pretty cool- cex, numbers, blood brothers. numbers is supposed to stay at our house.
our cat Smart has been acting crazy so today math called a cat behavioral specialist to confir about the issue. aparently saying 'no' or spraying him with water when he bites is bad.
godueax was here for a while visiting, that was fun. she gave me a haircut and we played card games alot. on the fourth of july we went to a party upstairs at texas that was 'makeout not war' themed. there was a little room with dv camera hooked up to a live projector in the other room where people would go and make out for everyone else to spy upon. it was fun and funny.
