more construction. lots more. we threw up a wall or two today. yikes, this stuff takes a long time. i'm really glad to be doing it, tho. i really like learning the trade and when else am i going to have an architect teaching me, providing all the tools and paying for all the materials (about $800 so far!). it's exhasting, tho.
the south side is coming up these days. there's a whole bunch of other cool loft kids we're friends with and we're creating a cool active artist kid community. there's a few new hip bars that have opened up here and in pilson. it's complicated, tho because it's begining to sound like gentrification. i don't know exactly what to say about that. and in other recent events, yesterday we had a major we-might-lose-housing scare when a fire inspector came by for a suprise inspection. we didn't let him in and talked to our buddy land lord dan about it and he shat his pants and hit the roof. i guess our place is technically illegal and theres a long sordid history between him and the local housing authorities. i guess theres alot of polical forces fucking with him since this is the major's old neighborhood and daly's a pretty sketchy character with a lot of buddies to please in this up and coming neighborhood. anyway, i guess it's sorted out for the time being, we're posing as an studio space, which is mostly true...
we have now been to joyyee 7 times in 7 days. we're obsessed. it's worse than the ring. we get a different bubble tea flavor everyday. today i got thai coffee freeze with large tapioca pearls. goddamn, goddamn. another one of my favorites is green-bean-coconut-green-freeze-small-tapioca-fruit-top. holy cow.
i MIGHT have an amazing cool second job working sound at the fireside bowl, a rad punk rock bowling alley/club. that would be amazing. there's a lot of opportunity here, i just need to get on it. it's hard when you're living out of boxes. that's why we've got to get constuction done.
i miss everybody tons and i haven't really been email/friendstering/livejournaling so much recently because the internet's been up and down here. we finally got our wireless router set up today, so i should be more consistant.
