I'm Mistress J-Random

So for Christmas (or Solstice for me) my Dad got a cheapo-fakeo Rubiks cube in his stocking that my mom and I picked out.  After the holidays it sat in it's packaging for a while, which irked me because I wanted to play with it (yes I'm totally that kid).  So I bugged him and he opened it while saying "Rubiks' Cubes drive me nuts, why bother trying to solve it and resolve it when you can write a computer program to continually fix it for you, so the problem never comes up again".  He made a really good point, but I really didn't notice...I just wanted to play!

So Dad messed up the cube gave it to me and then I continuously played with it for 4 days (you should have heard the complaints about it in bed...yes before sleep I was playing with the cube....soooo addicted).  You have to understand, for a geek kid since day one, I had never owned a rubiks cube.  Why my dad (and now I) believe very strongly about never giving kids toys that needed batteries to be played with, he also thought that rubiks cubes were not good enough.  So I was on a high of attempting to do the cube over, and over, and over again.  However once the cheapo-fakeo Rubiks cube started to break from over use, I decided to go by my own.

So now I have a true rubiks cube, and still continuously play with it.  I stand in line at a check out fiddling.  I sit in bed thinking about other things, solving.  Sit on desk, playing.  It's been a few weeks now since I first started playing, and I'm only now about to move away from it for periods of time.

I think I need to go to rubiks cube rehab.
