Notes: Uh... ok, notes just in case anyone does happen to read this, which isn't expected given that I don't have the faintest idea how long it's been since I did any journaling outside of games... this fic happened after I watched Antwone Fisher for class. Loses her...? Oh, I dunno, the disappearances are kinda fun. 'I'm only a shadow,' after all. (g) And earlier in the same episode, behind the tree... nyaaaan!

Do you think? I mean, we do know where he was sorted, regardless. ;p
Yeah, that's also a viable option. And I'd kind of like to be with you there, but the guy's so damaged... I mean, even if we discount DH completely, which I'm happy to do, he was pretty clearly a scapegoat at school from day one, and that unfortunately heavily implies that he was not-normal enough to attract attention and, since he is demonstrably clever enough to be despised on that front and not actually physically handicapped or deformed, not-confident enough to be picked on. So I can't think he had a happy childhood. And yet, having turned out as well as he did, that argues for his having had at least one person he could really rely on, and whether or not you count DH, that demonstrably wasn't Lily. Nor, given his devotion to excelling at magic, and given that he took the mark in the first place (unless you go with the he went in as a spy from the get-go theory) can I think it was his Muggle father. Now, the father could have been out of the picture in some way and not the actually abusive person, but I think the evidence is against him having been both a living and a good father. :\
